The whole weekend looked like hell to me as i watch my brothers leave one after the other. Thats tyga,our un-set alarm. I took a glance at our old plastic wall clock. "omo na 5 O'clock o and small time dem go come wake me for mornin prayers"i thought. I am to start school that day,and like the sentence goes "the fear of the unkown" i was beeming in fears. "what of if d ask me wetin i no knw,or if i wan piss or sheet nko"i was lost in my thoughts wen i heard a knock.. "sam,come may we pray"thats mum.Always cool and caring.Its her gene that dominates uchenna's.i always feel. I came out,looking a bit gloomy.we did the usaul singin and clappin,after which we prayed. "c ur uniform o"dad said handin a white top and small blue short. "if u reach school,tell dem may dem show u pri.1"he added. "What d heck?,no b nursery dem d start school?"i almost said. As if mum was reading my mind, "ur mate no d nursey again"she said. "Yes my mate no the nursery,by next month i wud be five na"i thought. "Oya go baff,come chop,so u no go go late"dad commanded. "yes sir"i said and left the room. The fact that am starting primary one and skipping nursery made me happy,but on the second thought,i was nervous. "how pesin wey neva chop at all go d chop meat"i thought... I took my bath rather sluggishly,prepared and left for school..... "u no fit knw weda food sweet unless u taste am na"i assured my self.... I got to the school compound and what happen plus what i saw made me cry... Yes!it made me cry... |
