The airline had a meeting with Nigerian aviation officials on Monday.

The management of Dana Airline said on Monday that the company would resume flight operations on Tuesday.

The airline made the announcement in a statement issued by its spokesman, Tony Usidamen, in Abuja.

According to the statement, the scheduled resumption is due to the lifting of the temporary suspension on the airline by the Federal Government on March 15.

“We are pleased to announce that the airline has been given approval to resume flight operations with immediate effect following the temporary suspension of our operations on Saturday.

“Scheduled flights will now commence on Tuesday, March 19, on the Lagos-Abuja-Lagos route,” it stated.

Dana’s statement followed the outcome of the meeting its officials had with aviation authorities.

Officials of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority met with the Dana management team in Abuja and deliberated on some safety issues in connection with the operations of the airline, Joe Obi, the aviation minister’s spokesperson said.

“At the end of the meeting, the suspension of the operations of the airline which took effect last Saturday was lifted. The airline is to resume normal operations immediately.

However, the particular aircraft which had a snag over the weekend is to remain grounded until after its air-worthiness has been recertified by Boeing, the manufacturer of the aircraft,” Mr. Obi said.
