Somalians are dying in large numbers because they have no food to eat.

Recently, United Nations has also raised an urgent impending famine and food shortages crisis across many nations, including Nigeria.

Some of the reasons responsible for the impending famine/food shortage crisis include.

#2. PESTILENCES & INCURABLE DISEASES

Collins English Dictionary defines *Pestilence* as *any disease that spreads quickly* and *kills large numbers of people*.

The prophecy given by the Lord, Jesus Christ, in Mathew 24:7 says there will be many pestilences; not just one.

Since HIV/AIDS came out in 1986, AIDS has killed more than 30 million people and many more millions of people are living with HIV and yet there are no cures.

Other contagious diseases include HEPATITIS B, SARS, MERS VIRUS and so on.

Even diseases that have cure are now becoming resistant to treatment and thus becoming so difficult to cure.

Few years ago, Ebola virus ravaged a few African countries and caused serious distress across the continent.

In December 2019, Corona Virus spread across the world and shut down the whole world economy in few months and killing millions.

As at July, 2021, 196 millions people have been infected by the Corona Virus Disease and over 4.19 million people have died from the disease, globally.

Even as we speak, the coming of new pandemic are being prophesied by servants of God.

We really need to repent and pray and to be covered with the blood of Jesus. Let us also observe preventive public hygiene measures in combating diseases.

#3. *EARTHQUAKES AND DISASTERS*

Earthquakes, Plane crashes, Floodings and other disasters are now happening so frequently. Let me do a little recap of recent earthquakes.

In January 12, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake with several after shocks struck a tiny nation, Haiti killing more than 100,000 people in the process. It was a monumental loss of lives and properties.

A month, after the Haiti earthquake, a more powerful magnitude 8.8 earthquake struck Chile on February 27, 2010. Earth's spin, figure skater style.

The Chile earthquake was so powerful that NASA announced that it likely shifted an Earth axis by 3 inches (8 centimeters) and thereby shortened the length of day.

One cannot forget in a hurry the Indonesia earthquake that triggered a tsunami that swept across countries and that deadly Japan earthquake of 11 March 2011 and the accompanying tsunami.

It will shock you to hear that, now on daily basis, ghundreds of earthquakes are happening globally.
