x^2 + y^2=10.....eqn 1,,,,1/x +1/y=4/3......eqn 2. 4rm eqn 2.......1/x=(4y-3)/3y therefore x=3y/(4y-3)......eqn 3. Substitute eqn 3 into eqn. 1,that is. (3y/(4y-3))^2 + y^2=10
(9y^2/(16y^2-24y+9)) +y^2=10
Multiply each term by the demominator
..... 9y^2 +16y^4 + 24y ^3 +9y^2=160y^2 -240y +90
....16y^4-24y^3+9y^2 +9y^2-160y^2+240y-90=0
This is a polynomial
Try y=1 & substitute
F(1)=0,therefore y=1
Substitute into eqn 1....x^2 + 1^2 =10,x^2=10-1=9,x = square root of 9=3
Therefore x=3,y=1 or x=1,y=3 QED
