She's the anchor of 2 sides, places or rooms, etc. If a supernatural dies, it just makes sense for one to go through her to get to the other side. Just like if you die and you see st Peter's gates to heaven, you go climb fence or refuse to enter and wait outside?

Stefan, I really pity him now. All that memory flooding back at once must bw dreadful, and being haunted by those agonizing 3mths in the river is sad. I hopr they find a way to fix him because that young man has suffered enough.

Bonnie as an anchor shouldn't be a doorway. An anchor/hinge is the reason the door is standing. Once the anchor is gone, the door falls ergo no supernatural afterlife.
