A false prophet is one who prophesy lies and half truth with a different spirit from the Lord. A true prophecy is always in line with the word of God and exalt Christ, anything aside from this is false.

Yes, the first thing 2 understand is that though a teacher can be a prophet and vice versa, but they stand in different offices.

A prophet foretells the future and stand in the office of a prophet, that is his special calling to prophecy future events, while a teaching exposes secret things in the word of God and make every of his listeners understand the mind of God, which is his office.

The interesting thing is that a prophet can also teach while a teacher prophecy, but that is not their offices and would never do as someone called to that office,

Now coming to false, they both tell lies and produces fruits accordingly with a different spirit, but their offices differentiates them.

Any man/woman that don't expresses/imparts Christ to others is false.
Its not just about prophecies or staging some demonstration.there must be an inward impartation to others.for instance.
Elijah would have been called a magician /false prophet assuming there was no rain after the great demostration on mount camel(1king36-39)because what the people actually needs was rain/water and not fire coming down from Heaven,and water typifies Life.and our Lord Jesus Christ is that very Life.

Do not be carried away by their popularity, command of english, Head knowledge of the Bible, Sugar coated tongue, etc
The comming of the Lord is at hand (rapture).
Satan, their master is figthing tooth and nail to deceive.

In addition a false prophet always have large cult like followers...people see him as a solution to their immediate problems..he is a god to them..my opinions sha..
