In view of the danger associated with using Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) as a food seasoning; coupled with the fact that most available seasoning agents such as Vedan, Maggi, Knorr, Doyin, etc. contain MSG. What alternative seasoning agents should I recommend to my lady?

I noticed that I sneeze and whiz a lot after eating cooked food that have been seasoned with Maggi, etc.
Consequently I have banned these seasonings in my kitchen but what better alternative do I have? Food nutritionists and health conscious individuals should please offer suggestion/solution.

I hate eating outdoor because of this concern.

Many thanks!

I know through reading research works. Thereafter I stopped eating cooked foods that are seasoned with MSG substance. I noticed significant improvement until I ate those seasoned foods again. The allergy re-surfaced!

Once again I stopped eating seasoned foods with MSG. The allergy has since stopped with improved energy.

Acidosis: thanks for your suggestion. However, salt is equally or more dangerous than MSG. I may stick with the latter among other natural things, though.

Any good lady in the house who has discovered alternatives to this MSG staff should please comment.

brother you had better not starve yourself cos of allergy and all that..

Moderate Maggi cubes and salt will not kill you. Go and ask all the vegetarians, how many of them lived beyond 90years?
What will kill a man will surely kill a man.

Not even the entire doctors in the world put together can stop me from eating fried rice garnished with curry & maggi seasoned chicken. I'll eat and then lick my fingers. Thats to tell you how much I love food.

If you run away from maggi because you sneeze, can you also escape dust?

MSG is far worse for your health than salt.Maggi is no different. Salt contains iodide...a nutrient the body needs. Processed seasonings are all about the taste. If you read the ingredients label of maggi, msg or whatever ...I am sure you will have flashbacks of chemistry classes. I suggest you stay away from processed seasonings and use local herbs...or would that be hmmm...beneath your class?

You wouldnt need maggi if your grinded pepper for stew, vegetables or jollof rice is VERY rich in Red ball pepper (Tatase). For your vegetables, Use plenty of ground crayfish

Secret seasoning without Maggi are
1. Garlic (Powder or wet paste)
2. Ginger (Powder or wet paste)
3. Locust bean i.e Iru in Yoruba (grounded or seeds)

Combination of two or three of this seasons, gives your food a taste you wouldn't resist. As for the garlic you can use little quantity. This is tested and approve by folks around me, you can try it also and come back to comment your result.

This combinations also have lots of health benefit which can help your family also...

Good-luck

Some of the popular seasonings like Knorr have the msg free versions. You can get them from large shops like Goodies. They're more expensive, but worth it. You can also try spices and herbs to make your meals more interesting.

That's true, all these chemicals are scary, I'll suggest herbs, Herbs, and HERBS to anyone who ask me. And what potent combination of herbs do we have that is better than almighty ALOMO BITTERS. Add 2 spoonful of ALOMO bitters and salt to taste.

"Generally," the best ingredient for cooking is salt! All the the ones are just aesthetics.
