We did everything possible to throw away this match. Gave away a cheap goal, conceeded a needless red card and capped it with a disgraceful penalty kick. What can I say. I don't usually get emotional about soccer but this was a poor, poor performance, period. 2 Likes |

Burger01: That abakaliki guy should be floggeed Cos he missed a penalty?? Oya get your koboko and flog him. Congrats to Ivory coast jare.. Manu Garba should learn to control his tongue.. He has been all over the media on how the eaglets would not only rule Africa but how they would be kings of the world.. His team has been beaten twice by same cote d'ivoire so he has no excuse. I hope he learns from this and correct his errors before the world cup. |

In my opinion, the Ivoriens were way better today. They played as a team and lorded the midfield throughout the game while every eaglet player was trying to get every ball to Success no matter how far away he was. The Eaglets coach is technically deficient. He should have talked to them to play their normal game. And Nwakali....what was that? A back pass to the Ivorien keeper? The ref was awful. |

The Nwakali should NEVER EVER try that type of ridiculous penalty again! That was just a horrible attempt. The referee has no business officiating any football match for the rest of his life. 2 Likes |

They always lose! Haven't u noticed d trend? U-17, U-20, . . . They start BIG, thrash their group opponents, qualify for semifinal/final and eventually lose out. No surprises. Better luck next time, esp from officials. |

This was not a tactical defeat. The Ivorians were bigger and stronger the Nigeria. However, Nwakali should work on his penalty skills for the future. As for the ref, I reserve my comments. 1 Like |

gbosaa: Actually, we lost to CIV on technical superiority. Their coach understudied our style of play and adapted his game plan to beat our superior ball control. I hope the coach works further on the boys, especially our back 4 + the goalkeeper. The world has taken notice of our boys, despite losing, we are technically more superior than the other teams and they are going to watch out for the boys during the World cup. The Eagles are a good team, but more work has to be done on the defensive midfield position. The opposing AMs need to be tracked all the way, not just when they reach the Nigerian 18-yard box. Also, during the World Cup, when the team comes up against a taller side, passing the ball on the ground should be the preferred tactic. |
