Thanks for the help everyone. The dress came out looking good.
@ Efosa Val, thank you. Was scared at first but finally made it without using darts. Was shocked it turned out really well. smiley
Please, I don't know how to reply to a particular post. Do I quote it?

ibufunky: Hello Onnari, thank you soo much, please what do u mean by open nd close dart, den what does it mean to taper a dart? Thanks

Hang in there. Would go thru it all again using a plain fabric as I earlier said. Guess i got u all onfused with the term 'open dart' smiley i coined those wordS :-) It's just like making pleats on the reverse side of your fabric and sewing these pleats. The length of each pleat should begin at the at the end of your bodice(for this dress above your navel) and should end @ ur underbust. Its super easy so dont fret. Would guide u. Trying to sort out work stuff- got a lot on my plate @ the moment. Wld be with u guys shortly. :-)

Hi Onari, I just observed that is seems dis gown won't av a bodice & skirt part ie it is not joined 2gether, my observation might b wrong though
Re: A “SEW ALONG” THREAD For Sewing Enthusiasts/Tailors/Fashion Designers:DECEMBER by onnari(f): 3:42am On Dec 19, 2013
It does have a joining...look closely. it would be practically impossible to have your inverted pleats on the bodice and skirt without a joining. there is also a belt to tie at the back of the dress. Sorry ppl I'll be AWOL for a bit. Wld check in from tie to time in the main time please send in photos of ur fabrics n things so the thread doesn't get too quiet. Thnx for participating.
