Obiagu1: From every corner of Nigeria, many have regrets, regrets of having fought against Biafrans.

The truth is that that war was unjust, unnecessary and have caused both Biafrans and Nigerians more pains that it has solved.
Both sides would have seen more progress if we'd gone our ways; let the truth be told.

IBB, Mark, Danjuma and co will not voice their regrets yet because they are the only beneficiary of that stupid war!
speechless.

Nigeria: Ojukwu, Ex-Biafran Soldiers Demand Gratuities
BY EMMANUEL AZIKEN, 19 FEBRUARY 2002
A SENATE public hearing was yesterday presented with a petition for the payment of pensions to former Biafran soldiers including Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegu-Ojukwu. Revelations before the committee also pointed to the existence of 1,000 ghost names on the pension payroll of the Nigerian Railways Corporation.

The Senate public hearing into the delayed payment of pensions to retired public servants was told that the present federal administration had released N118.9 billion to date for the payment of civilian and military pensions.

Awka, Anambra — The over 150 wounded ex-Biafran soldiers quartered at the leper's settlement, Oji River in Enugu State since the end of the Nigerian civil war, have demanded a N200 billion rehabilitation grant from the Federal Government.

The demand was contained in a 9-point memorandum sent to the Justice Oputa panel on Human Rights Violation Investigation after its sitting in Enugu.

^^^You really are daft!; so your argument is that ex-Nigerian soldiers are just as neglected as ex-Biafran soldiers so you don't know what all the fuss is about undecided ......i thought Nigeria was the 'victor' and that their ex-soldiers would by now be chopping life in the new, wonderful and equitable Nigeria that they fought and sacrificed their lives for?

The way Nigerian is treating their soldiers is very shameful. American/Americans don't play with Veterans.
We treat our vet real good. Good medical care for life, GI Bills and many more goodies. Many go back to work with the federal govt, high priority placement no matter how many years you served in the US military.
Go to some if not most US churches yesterday and see them celebrating service men and women for what they gave and still giving, for those gone before/still alive or are serving.
Such patriotic people!. God bless America, God bless our troops.

I hope that someday Nigeria will do the right thing and consider those who fought their wars.
