I think the north will be of more benefit because it supply the bulk of food. so those food will become cash crop and they will sell at what ever price they want.

they will take over their banking system which is control by mostly easterner now under jonathan..

they will take over transportation which is control by easterner
they will take over thier commercial sell store etc, which is control by easterners
they will take over aviation
they will take over sport which is control by easterner
they will take over medicine supply which is control by easterner
they will take over their communication which is control by some southerners.
they will take over insurance too. etc ,
they will take over spare part business which is control by easterner
They will take over newspaper business(champion, sun
they will take over nollywood which is control by easterner
they will take over music which is control by easterner

In such millions of jobs will be created in the north.

Western Niger

every time a person from the western niger enter transportation which is control by easterner
they will take over their commercial sell store etc, which is control by easterners
they will take over aviation
they will take over sport which is control by easterner
they will take over medicine supply which is control by easterner
they will take over their communication which is control by some southerners.

under the pre independent agreement they get part of the oil revenue if they leave. because those who wrote the agreement did not know they were going to discover oil in future in nigeria.

it is an advantage for the western niger to leave nigeria.. because like the north , we will take over all of them too.

it will be the greatest thing that ever happen to the north.

wrong!! BH will die off as long as the people sponsoring it (bayelsa link) find no reason to.

Barring any last minute changes, Governor Timipre Sylva’s hope of retaining his seat in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Bayelsa state, may have been foreclosed. Competent sources have revealed that Governor Timipre Sylva, who is the chief Security officer of the state, has become a liability and security risk to the Nigerian security agencies and cannot be trusted with the responsibility of governance.

His actions and utterances, penultimate week, caused panic within the presidency and Nigerian security apparatchiks. President Jonathan was said to be highly disturbed by Governor Sylva`s conduct that he hurriedly summoned a meeting of security chiefs in Nigeria, with Governor Sylva in attendance, to defend himself.
At the meeting Governor Sylva took responsibility for his utterances and conducts, citing frustration on his part and lack of support from President Jonathan as being responsible for his misdeeds. Subsequently, Governor Sylva knelt down and begged the President and the security czars present to forgive him. He was then asked to cease and desist from making threats capable of heating up the polity and return to Yenogoa immediately.

However, security has been beefed up around President Jonathan, his family and interests in Nigeria, particularly in his home state, Bayelsa.

To this end “Famou Tamgbei”, a security team, consisting mainly of mobile policemen which was constituted by Governor Sylva and is alleged to be loyal to him, has been disbanded by the Inspector General of police, Hafiz Rigim.

Irked by Governor Sylva’s conducts, leading members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) of Ijaw extraction has begun shopping for his replacement. It is however uncertain if they have the backing of President Jonathan.

Huhuonline.com understands that Governor Sylva in a telephone conversation with President Jonathan`s brother and former Bayelsa state commissioner for Health, Dr. Eruani Azipanu, had threatened to kill him, President Jonathan and his wife, Patience, if he was not re-elected as Governor.

In a telephone conversation with Huhuonline.com, Eruani said:
“Governor Sylva called me one early morning, and I answered and said Good morning Your Excellency. Sylva responded, Please don’t call me that, I heard the President wants to remove me as Governor and install you, so that is why you refused to return as commissioner?

“Let me tell you something. THIS WILL BE THE LAST FIGHT; I WILL KILL PRESIDENT JONATHAN, HIS WIFE, PATIENCE AND YOU. YOU SHOULD BE AWARE THERE IS BOKO HARAM. I WILL MOBILIZE THEM TO YENAGOA AND WILL SINK THE STATE IF YOU PEOPLE MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO REMOVE ME”.

Our investigation reveals that for several months, Sylva had complained to the Inspector General of Police, Haffiz Rigim that he does not have access to President Jonathan. He said as the Governor of Mr. President’s home state, he was supposed to have unfettered access to the President.

However the president’s inner caucus decided to move against him because of his role during the health crisis of former President Umar Yar’Adua that created power vacuum. According to security reports,it was alleged that Governor Sylva provided Five hundred million naira (N500, 000,000.00) as bribe to the National Assembly to make sure that Goodluck Jonathan does not emerge as acting President.

Attempt to reach Governor Sylva was unsuccessful, calls to his phone were not answered, neither did he respond to our text messages as at press time. However, sources close to the Governor insist that his threats was a political ploy, aimed at putting the President`s men, who are opposed to his re-election on the defensive.

Asked about Governor Sylva’s threats vis-a-vis, his right to freedom of expression, a leading constitutional lawyer from Nigeria, who craved anonymity, said, “Governor Sylva crossed the line, the Nigerian constitution, (Chapter 4, section 33), guarantee every citizen the right to life, and states no one should be deprived intentionally of his life. It is wrong for anyone to threaten another life, talk less an elected Governor to threaten to terminate the life of a sitting President”. This is political suicide, and unless President Jonathan let this slide, Gov. Sylva may have ended his political carrier, he said.

In a related development there are indications that the removal of the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa, Chief Dairus Obiene, would have negative effects on the struggle by the incumbent governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, to secure the party’s governorship ticket.

Investigation revealed that the governor, who lobbied spiritedly for Obiene to retain his job as part of the grand plan to win the PDP primary slated for November 19, 2011 became worried as the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) approved the appointment of James Dugo as the substantive chairman ahead of the February 2012 governorship poll.

The tenure of the former state chairman was characterised by bickering and series of complaints by PDP major stakeholders and members, regarding lopsidedness in the party’s hierarchy.

President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Sylva and Obiene are from Bayelsa East Senatorial District, a development which generated ill feelings within the party members in Bayelsa.

Also learnt that the decision of the NWC to ratify the appointment of Mr James Dugo, on Tuesday, inAbujahad terribly rattled the camp of the governor’s loyalists against the forthcoming primary election.

The source further hinted that Sylva had approached elder statesmen from the Niger Delta region and Amanyanabo of Nembe Kingdom, Edmund Daukoru, the leadership of Ijaw National Congress (INC), Bayelsa Founding Fathers Forum, Bayelsa Elders Forum and paramount ruler of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Otuoke community, HRH Lot Ogiasa, to prevail on the president to give him a chance.

Afenifere has asked the government to look into the traditional ruler’s claim.

The notorious terrorists den uncovered recently in Lagos belongs to the Bayelsa State Government, the Ojora of Ijora, Fatai Aromire, said on Tuesday.

The monarch who was addressing a delegation from the Hausa community in the area who called on him, said the house where nine suspected terrorists, including a Chadian, were arrested is located in Ijora-Badia in Lagos.

“Discovery of such factory in Ijora was very sad to me and the entire family of Ojora,” the monarch was quoted by The Nation Newspaper as saying. “It was God that saved the whole Lagos because the attack was meant to destroy the state as a whole and not Ijora alone.”

Warning the delegation to be very watchful of their environment and the activities of people around them, the Ojora said Lagos is a no-go area for miscreants, pointing out that although the arrested suspected terrorists were reported to be Malians and Chadians, they resided among people in the area.

“Please, talk to your people and call them to order because if they do not desist from harbouring strange persons, the result will be disastrous for them. I also want to say that the blame should also go to the Bayelsa State government for not taking care of their abandoned house where the evil doers are using as their hideout,” he said.

According to him, his Council has been talking to the Bayelsa State government for a very long time to come and lease the building out to people that would make use of it but they refused.

Mr. Aromire said that a lot of effort was being put to work with the Divisional Police authorities and other government agencies in this area to ensure security by either demolishing the building or give it to the people that will make use of it.

The Bayelsa State Government is yet to react to the monarch’s claims.

Afenifere reacts

Meanwhile, the pan Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere, has joined other concerned Nigerians to call on both the Lagos State and the Federal Government to launch a full-scale investigation into the claim by the traditional ruler to unravel the truth and bring the culprits to book.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, the group said that claim by the Ojora raises a red flag that cannot be ignored given the psychological warfare that has been waged against Yorubaland of possible terror attack for about a year now.

According to the group, what has largely been perceived as a threat is assuming a near reality with the discovery of this terror hideout. It added that it has been compelled to call for a thorough investigation of this incident to ascertain who the suspects are and what links they have with the dreaded Boko Haram or army.

The group would also wants to know why the Bayelsa State Government would maintain an abandoned property in Ijora-Badia of all places in Lagos and would not want to give it out to those interested in using the place.

“The veracity of claims that the Bayelsa State Government has been approached several times by the community to demolish the house or give it to people who may use it without any response is very important at this time.

“A satisfactory explanation would dispel the conspiracy theory that Boko Haram may have become a franchise under which fifth columnists may be operating to disrupt the peace of Yorubaland and instigate a national crisis with our land as a possible battle ground.” Afenifere said.

It threatened that it would not accept any shoddy handling of this case as has happened to many of such incidents in recent times with suspects paraded and nothing heard later. It warned all agents of terror to stay away from the Yoruba nation in order not to invoke “the wrath of our ancestors.”

“Yoruba people are peace-loving and our land a place where people from all nationalities from Nigeria are at home without any fear of molestation. Any group or individuals who want to shatter the peace of the region can only meet their Waterloo. Finally, we call on our people to be vigilant at all times and report suspicious movements to the appreciate authority,” the group said

^^^You really give new meaning to 'dumb'.....you know that don't you?

The difference between you and i is that whereas i see the mistake Zik made in believing that Nigeria could work (and you can sought of understand where he was coming from given his unique pan-Nigerian upbringing and outlook); you on the other hand don't see anything wrong in Awos actions (or inactions) in events leading up to and including the civil war (his actions after the war are issues for another day).....including his belief in Nigeria being 'a mere geographical expression', yet being prepared to spill blood to sustain it. If he hadn't let his 'feelings' of Ndigbo get in the way of his better judgement, he could have realised that he had been presented a unique window of opportunity to free his people from the burdensome yolk that the fuc/ker Lugard had saddled them with.

If a country would be divided Awo an intellectual would divide it on the round table instead of urging people to fight while he flees to Abidjan

I think d south will benefit more nd some will more than d rest based on little advantages.the west:once d 2nd largest exorter of cocoa will strive in agriculture biutumen oil nd d advantage of d sea put dem in a more prosperous angel.d east:a highly commercialsed pepl with business orientation has the largest onshore oil deposit in nija with coal iron ore nd other minerals.will have the advantage of river nija wic will be an international water with chances of technological advancement frm its ingenuity.d ss:basicaly has oil fertile lands. For farming nd also minerals with good advantage to d open sea.d north central:has oil prospects nd agric in d sence dat a gud percentage of dia produce re needed in d soutj eg yam will see dis as an export potential with direct access to the nija.also this region is blessed with abundant minerals eg kogi state.far north:though blessd with large land mass nd solid minerals is landlocked as a majour disadvantage nd will be an impediment to dia developementas thry must depend on other countrys for survival in dat area, also with high number ofilliteracy nd insurgency nd poverty with lazy population this region will be worst hit

^^^^^^ what you hope will happen and what will happen are totally different things tongue , have you ever been to the core-north? even today most export/import in the north comes/goes through niger, up to Cotonou and Lome and yet you dont hear people complaining cos its a much better deal than going through this useless setup called same country.

now agriculture, read up man! number one and two top agricultural export last year is sesame seed and cotton, find out which region produces that, as for produce to sell to the south, where do you get tomato, pepper meat and all other things that makes your so called yam eatable?

if you are looking for a bunch of lazy people look no further than the niger delta, apart from oil (which is not an effort, even at that its the white men drilling it) what exactly do they produce?

so see, the north will suffer only in your bigoted little mind.

the igbos have been the smartest, they take from everybody and nobody takes from the igbo people.
