Good day fellow nairalanders. Please i really need an informed advice/guideline from those of you who probably worked/ still working/ knows someone working in any of the companies mentioned above (shell/chevron). I'm a microbiologist and would really love to work with shell or chevron. But when i logged into their site, i didn't see my course of study listed among the various degrees. A friend told me microbiologists can apply but doesn't know how. so i would be immensely grateful if i could get a proper guideline. i believe this could help many others out there too. thanks as you respond

U didn't study social sciences,management,engineerin or physical science courses.unless to b effective u will nid a related or higher degree nd sm extra certifications.obviously u r only interested in oil moni.nt lyk dat. like ur course/profession nd b d best in ur chosen career nd beyond d sky is ur limit,d moni will come nd u mite even b richer dan many peeps dat wk in d oil nd gas sector.u must nt wk in oil nd gas 4 u to b rich,don't b a second class of odas,b a 1st class of ursef.dats my candid advice 4 u.now to answer ur que,it mite b possible to wk in chevron/exxonmobil wit ur background in microbiology,but I doubt wher u can fit in best.all d best!

Thanks a lot.i was told microbiology was a hot cake course when i chose it back then. Now that i graduated, i know better. I've been applying to several places since i graduated but have been unlucky. i'm not bugged about oil money. i only need a good place to start life. tired of all these 40-50k jobs that all ends on feeding and transport.

Well I lived in chevron estate satellite town I know they have laboratories and clinics for their staffs as a Microbiologist you can apply why not if you did not see your course in their website you can choose OTHERS when you scroll.
Microbiology is a nice course and I can tell you and let no one deceive you, you can work in Oil company but you know Nigeria if you no sabi person na Oyo you dey.
