Beckham should be Knighted. He gave his all to England both on & off the pitch. He has been a good ambassador for Her Majesty's service.Probably, the queen is thinking of Beckham's tattoos.

I'd put Ryan Giggs ahead of him in the wing department. Guys like Arjen Robben also featured in the EPL at one point remember?

Beckham is/was a very good player, but definitely not tier 1. I'd put him at tier 2B; great career regardless.

Jarus: I used to say he was overrated. But in hindsight, he wasn't actually overrated. At least nobody ever said he was the best player on planet.

I think he was a great player.

In my books, he was:

England's best footballer in the last 15 years
EPL's best deadball specialist ever
Second to CR7 as best winger the game has seen in the last 15 years

I know he is overhyped, but nobody ever said he was the best football player, the hype comes from the looks and all those off-field activities, which are not my business
Re: David Beckham Retires From Football by Deiok(m): 8:45pm On May 16, 2013
He was one of the best that ever played the game, and he was the best in is position at his peak. #Davidbeckhamlegend.

It's high time he retired, he's so overrated
Re: David Beckham Retires From Football by AlyricistLaura: 11:08pm On May 16, 2013
Ov course the number 1 hater on nairaland mama gee has something negative to say.....

Every comment about a legend is always negative from her.

His time at Real Was pretty good. True Madrid Fans should pay Homage

Truth be Told Dave was done about 6 years ago though Tbh....

He lacked the legs to play at elite high level midfield. Which was the reason he went to America Anyway.

Great business move to extend and prolong his brand imo

Also very calculated and lucrative

Finidi George in his prime @ Ajax was far better than this over-rated guy called Beckham.

Good! The most overrated footballer I have ever seen, @ least, we can now watch quality football.
These are all David Beckham's quality and there is nothing eye-catching or special in them.
Speed= 0
Dribble=0
Goals= he can't score as much as Lampard, c. Ronaldo, or even Gerrard.
Free-kicks= there is nothing special in his free-kick, Juninho scores twice as many free-kick that Beckham can ever score
Pass= please his he up to Xavi Hernandez?
Beckham is just an overrated hollywood lie, the most overrated if not one of the worst footballers ever!

And what the hell was his achievement @ Madrid? 4years there, just 1 trophy; and he won it as a bench warmer. Even common copa del rey, he was no where near it. Thank God Barca never signed him, rather, they purchased a cheap player called Ronaldinho, who we all agree is far and very far greater than Beckham.

Ronaldhino was certainly greater than Dave......

Yep. I remember when teams passed on Ronny because he was allegedly too ugly to market.

Ronaldhino's rise...crash&burn is a bit mysterious though.

It's not too far fetched to believe he may have been assisted with some performance enhancing aid while at Barca. {Messi was on it@the time....admitted public record by club hgh}

Because that fast fall from grace and greatness was just scary looking back....

It seemed as if it happened all within one month at Barca....

Started getting fat and sloppy and moved slow as hell and completely lost his pace...

Very Disturbing.

Becks run at Madrid was a Success Imo...he did not tarnish his brand, And of Course we know monetary earnings and lucrative profit are the most important objectives as an athlete.

I tell ya one thing...

I rather be Dave than Ronny right now.....

Ronny is getting cut and ripped apart in the media by local domestic brazil teams the last few years.

Even got to a point so bad where he was arguing with his manager/coach about how he has a private jet and could buy him.

I honestly can't recall a faster more dramatic fall off than ronaldhino.....

I would say iverson but he at least put in 13 hall of fame years before his dramatic drop.

Ronny was only in his mid 20s...

And Fell off Like a Boulder fom a Mountain Top.

Give me Dave's Career Earnings and Lifestyle and Less Lavish footballing ability...over Ronny's prime flair...and immortal 6 years of sublime football wizardry

Brotha..you ain't Lyin....

Truly Tragic........

A fall from greatness unlike any other that I've ever seen...

Just imagine if next year Lebron became a bum....or Ronaldo got fat and slow and couldn't score & oupace defenders anymore...

It happened out of no where......

He had to be on Peds.....

I never seen a drop off like that before.....

When he was great though......wow was he just Amazing.

A Footballing God.

A Wizard of Wonder

The bolded part is the summary of all your comparison between d 2 players. All other comments are useless. Beckham is over rated. Finidi George is better. # FACT#

His Bank Account Damn Sure can't Fhuck with Dave's............

That's what really matters.

You play this game for earnings.

Give me Dave's bank account and career and you take ronny's buckteeth and sublime 2005 Magic....

Magic that would susequently burn out drastically and dramatically disappear with no reasonable explanation.

If money is ur criteria 4 success for a footballer, then u must be a biased analyst. So Becks is greater than Zidane, Ronaldo de Lima, Figo, Nistelrooy, Maldini, etc, cos he's richer than them?

And who told u Dinho played real soccer in 2005? Who scored a wonder-goal free kick from the center circle against Beckham's England @ 2002 World Cup? Who dribbled 4 England players and passed to Rivaldo to finish off England? Yes his fall was great, but he was simply Magical.

Freekicks, Juninho was best. Passes, Xavi and Zidane are Kings. Scoring goals 4rm wings, CR7 is baba. Cutting in 4rm the wings, Finidi George was better. What did he offer to football other than off-field jamborees?

Long passes,Beckham was one of the best, better than Xavi. Freekicks, he was certainly a force to reckon with. What he offered football, he scored a brilliant goal from d half way line, he scored that great freekick for England against Greece which helped dem qualified for d World Cup. His 2 corner kicks helpd Man. Utd win d champions league against Bayern Munich in 99. 2nd to Rivaldo (1999) in d FIFA world footballer f d year & 2nd to Figo too in 2001 Beckham hater, he's nt the most talented we all know dat bt 4 now, he's way better than U!
