2015 Election: Anenih Seeks Automatic PDP Ticket For Jonathan, Others

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Anenih, has proposed an automatic second term ticket for incumbent president and governors who perform well in office, thus seeking to boycott the usual primaries.

This he said is to avoid the hassles that go with the party primaries, especially for executive positions.

Speaking at a dinner organised by President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday night, for the “PDP family” at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Mr. Anenih said the internal problem of the party must be urgently handled if Nigerians must take the party serious.

The proposal by Mr. Anenih, if accepted by the party, would mean that President Goodluck Jonathan would be unchallenged for the PDP presidential ticket in 2015.

The way these people talk about politics and elections in Nigeria, sometimes I wonder if its our votes that count or their verbal pronouncements. see how iwuanyawu proclaimed that southeast has endorsed gej for second tenure

Anenih, the Mr Fix-It of those days, is obviously at his wits end. The poor man is now old and understandly tired and his once robust bag of tricks is now empty.

Having been dusted in Edo state by the dimunitive but ruthless Oshiomhole, the man is too exhausted to fight this Amaechi/2015 tussle. Himself and the other aged PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, have been throwing feeble and predictive blows at Amaechi, all of which the younger and more alert man has been ducking.

Unsure of the direction the 2015 PDP primaries could go, especially from the way the Governors' Forum election went, they've come up with another shift in the goal post - look for a way to dodge party primaries for Jonathan.

Honestly, these are not the best of times for the Jonathan 2015 camp.

Tukur is expired. Anenih is tired. Akpabio is not meticulous. Jang is expired. Dickson is a lapdog. The President himself is a poor politician. Amaechi has become an eel. OBJ has jumped ship. Dokubo and Clarke and Kuku are exasperating alarmists. Mimiko is unserious and a mere opportunist.

Fredrick Faseun is deluded. Peter Obi is lazy. Theo Orji is unthinking. Okupe is bumbling. Abati is confused. Most of the ministers aren't seasoned politicians. Sullivan Chime is sick and apathetic.

Saraki is cold. Atiku is mute. The VP is a rookie and a lighweight. The Senate President is his own man and has an agenda. Same for the Speaker of House of Reps. PDP is at its weakest point since 1999. The opposition is at its strongest point.

Who are the other visible names? No wonder they're looking for a shortcut. We understand, Mr Anenih, we understand.

Mr Fix-it at it again, I want them to go into primaries to test their popularity. He actually made a valid point their about anyone that had delivered to go for another term unchallenged! As for me, Jonathan deserves another term because he merited it for his good works!

The undemocratic rant of sheer desperation. The terror facing team GEJ, borne of the knowledge their man can never win the PDP Primaries legitimately, is behind this feeble garbage that will be soundly rejected by others who are completely secure in the knowledge they have the number to defeat GEJ easily in a transparent and fair test of popularity.

It is only naive supporters of Mr President who illogically shout that the PDP is a "national Party", who will be shocked to note this is not so with how the North will prove their numerical strength and clout within the Party. GEJ has lost and alienated virtually all the influential Northern 'moderates' who used powerful office to even things in his favour in the past. He paid them back with ingratitude and treachery. Now his only allies are all mercenaries, ethnic jingoists and AGIPs - not folks ideologically supportive of his ambition.

It will soon be crystal clear that the PDP is indeed a Northern Party as many intelligent analysts have always postulated. Political affiliates of GEJ, like Anenih, already know this. Hence their desperate effort to seek every method under the Sun to bypass Primaries that will reveal how highly unpopular GEJ is amongst his PDP compatriots.

Sorry "Mr.Fix-it" that you will not be allowed , regardless of your desperation, to change the rules in the middle of the game. It will definitely be fun to watch the PDP drama as it unfolds from now henceforth.

Indeed. How can things go well when GEJ, by his own divisive and treacherous antics, has alienated the support base that would have come in useful at times like this? This is why opportunistic and myopic politicians do not last. In seeking to profit today at all cost, they myopically burn bridged they may need later. Now, as Pukkah eloquently revealed above, all GEJ has in his corner are expired mercenaries, political jobbers, ethnic jingoists and "chop-clean-mouth" AGIPs ("any government in power" ). We will certainly enjoy the show. Truckload of pop corn already on order for me cheesy cheesy cheesy

This is why these supporters of GEJ, immature kids in reality, stalk me with their empty insults and vitriol. There is virtually not a single thing we are seeing now that I have not boldly predicted before to the consternation of these sentimental children who have a severe and laughable disconnection with morality and uprightness.

Being that way means they are likely to embrace the shallow approach of insulting others vacuously, while continuing to back GEJ blindly, rather than ever acknowledge what the man does wrong that even a 5 year old, if ethical and fair-minded, can predict will draw negative repercussion in future. It is not Rocket Science. Merely that some people are too sentimental, too clannish and too bigoted to see it.

i can see anenih starting to demonstrate the soul and sole reason why he was brought in to head the PDP BoT instead of other candidates.

When talking about the good performances of all the party's governors and the president, what yardstick do they have to measure these? Is it the degree of the kleptocracy, ironycrazy or chop-make-chop-crazy that the current and past dispensations have been demonstrating?
Good governance is known and recognised by the governed though may not be obvious to the party that harbours the governors but the power to reelect the governors is with the governed if left in a free and fair democratic atmospheric contest which will be determined by their previous governmental records and achievements!

A 1,000.00 likes !!! Pukkah wittily identifies what is obvious. I.e a project united in cynicism and opportunism, now propped up only by jaded geriatrics, ethnic jingost and sabre rattlers plus "chop and clean mouth" mercenaries.

GEJ has no choice but to seek the assistance of these charlatans since the enduringly principled Nigerians money cannot buy have rejected and will continue to soundly reject him. How, for example, can GEJ ever get the support of Wole Soyinka, Femi Falana, Donald Duke, Pat Utomi, Okey Ndibe, Balarabe Musa, Col-Umar et al unless he does the right things by Nigerians? It is instructive that the biggest indicator GEJ's 2015 ambition is doomed is the fact GEJ Mr.Preisdent would find it hard to get even a single well-respected Nigerian to willingly support him.

If GEJ has demonstrated that he means well for Nigerians then others who have also proven this to all Nigerians, perhaps the hard and sacrificial way, will naturally be behind him. This is something no balanced adult can deny. Conversely, what does it make GEJ when it is only crooks and undesirable elements who queue behind him as Pukkah reveals?

GEJ,, has nothing to LOSE. Nigerian masses are the ones LOSING. These same ROGUES will find a way to compromise with GEJ, If not, the dude might spill the beans (fight corruption or work in the interest of the common man, and the PDP rogues will not want that to happen, hence, they'll let him have his way. I'm surprise that Nigerians don't understand these rogues yet. PLS THEY''RE NOT FIGHTING EACH OTHER AS U MAY THINK. Anenih is testing the waters, they're using this announcement to keep GEJ enemies guessing, there will be primaries. Governors have looted the treasury and if they don't support the ROGUE IN CHIEF, they might lose their loot. 2015' is so far away, as the day go by, the rest of the governors will be flogged into the line.
The northern gov's are just doing GARAGARA to please their region.

GEJ lose the ticket to LAmido or who? U must be a LEANER. It's not GEJ, as a person. He has POLITICAL HANDLERS & strategist.

They'll SURPRISE those who thinks that the man is WEAK. Nigerians are the WEAKER COWARDS!

GEJ defeated the so called 'wise evil men' of the North to clinch the ticket in 2011. Doing so now wont be too difficult.

By the way, why is it that buhari's dogs and baboons seems to to be too keen in whats happening within the PDP as if Buhari isn't APC's 2015 presidential candidate by default.

Hypocrisy stinks.

I saw this coming. Why is GEJ so desperate to remain in office but so afraid of testing his popularity at the pools. Automatic ticket, then rig to finish at the main elections. Politics has been benevolent enough to him, I mean going by the zoning arrangement GEJ was not supposed to be president in the first place. He and other PDP members lied about it. If he contests the primaries and fail, its not a do or die affair, he should honorably go home. He should be a man and not run away from the primaries.
