Nairalanders, pls help a sister. I stay in the hostel and i dont have a proper food plan.
I cook palm oil rice a lot cuz its easy to prepare.
I also prepare noodles. Not that i cant cook but because most times, I am at a loss on what to cook. This is why i want you all to please write out a balanced meal plan 4 me. I will really stick to it.

PS.
I dont cook soup in the hostel cuz i dont have a fridge.
I dont eat unripe plantain.
I dont have plenty money o.

List out the foods available that u can cook and eat
Re: A Students' Food Time-table by Vivly(f): 4:54pm On Jun 01, 2013
All except soup and unripe plantain.
Also, do not include delicacies like bush meat stew, fresh fish stew etc. Just ordinary ice fish or geisha(mackerel) stew. I no dey my mama house.

As a student you should concentrate on dishes that won't run you dry after preparation.

If you have some cash with you, I'll advise you to do some sopping on the following items.

1. Bournvita/milo/ovatine.
2. Milk.
3. St louis sugar.
4. A carton of indomine.
5. A packet of cabin biscuits.
6. Rice (quarter bag)
6. Tin tomatoes
7. Sachets of salt.
8. Bottle of groundnut oil.
9. Garri.
10. Geshia.
11. Sachet of maggi.
12. Onions.
13. Pepper.

If you still have enough money after purchasing these items, you can go for yams, beans, palm oil...I'm sure that preparing them shouldn't be a problem for you.

Good luck.

Ok.

How about skipping breakfast, have your lunch when you come back from lectures...indomine, rice, or fried yam should do, then eat the left overs for dinner.

That's how I survived when I was schooling.

Eat a decent breakfast.
You'll need it. There's nothing more miserable leaving without some fuel in your system
only to meet some being scare the starch outta you.

Morning:

Bread and tea.
Yam and egg/stew/butter/palm oil etc
Rice (Concoction)
Fruit (Trust me, it helps with 7;00am tests/exams)
Or any meal that works with you...

The Rest of the day? Go figure.

As a student or worker, having your breakfast early before setting out makes you weak and lazy for the rest of the day.

In order to be active throughout the day, its advisable that you skip it.

Skipping breakfast is not advisable.
Ulcers.
Instead, a light breakfast just to keep you going even if its an orange.

That's not true...do you know how many Nigerians skip breakfast?

Go to popular bus stops by 6am and you'll see the crowd of people there waiting for buses that would convey them to their various place of work...how many of them have ulcers?

when I was still schooling, I don't think I can remember when last I had breakfast...even up till now, I still skip my breakfast cos am already used to it.

Why don't I have ulcers?

You would only have an ulcer when you take a tablet (drug) on a empty stomach. And not when you skip a meal.

I'll make research on this.
