The Presidential flagbearer of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the last general elections, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, has refuted claims that the National Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Chief Bisi Akande has been endorsed as the Interim National Chairman of the proposed All Progressives Congress (APC).

He, however, explained that Chief Akande is eligible to be nominated by the nine-man Interim Management to be set up by the party, if it so desires.

Shekarau, during a press conference in Kano yesterday, explained that that explanation became necessary so as to put the records straight as well as to dismiss speculations that Akande has been endorsed as the Interim Chairman of the APC.
