i see the westerners and northerners being happy abt this. Which state in nigeria generate 5billion as IGR apart frm Lagos? Do you think it will affect only oil producing states? For over 50 years oil has been sustaining this country. Dnt forget if this happens, most goverment workers will be laid off. Oil run this country directly and indirectly.
Can u imagine, a sitting governor in one of the northern states having over 700 aides. Waste of resources. Surely the northerners will agitate for division because there is nothing to benefit from one nigeria.

Those blaming oil for our present situation should think again. Nothing in itself is a problem; our attitude to things is the problem. If we didn't discover oil, we will still be romancing with corruption and all manner of ínjustIce and corruptIon. It's sad, but that's the reality in Africa. Egypt and Ethiopia are even dragging over River Nile's water. If the Nile wasn't there, they would probably drag over air. The black man's attitude to resources is appaling to say the least.

Haba? That means no enough market for fuel, no stealing. We must go back to Agriculture as our grand mamas and papas for good. A better Nigeria will emerge if we go back to Agriculture.

All those wishing for the price of oil to drop, don't think it will affect our leaders oo. They have made enough money for their entire generation.

So if the oil like let it dry up, they won't lack nothing. Its u and I that will feel the pain.

No no no. They will feel the pain because if u and I don't eat we have to survive one way of the other. So we will be coming for them. They will have to pay their bodyguard 4 times what they are paying now.

Out of jealousy some people are jubilating because India has discovered oil, some even pray for our country's oil to dry up. What is really wrong with some Nigerians.
These unpatriotic Nigerians should know that if their wish is granted, it is the ordinary citizens that will feel the negative impact most, because those in government have already accumulated enough wealth for themselves and their families.
Becareful of what you wish for.

Really!? Not the ibos because they have consistently denigrated the palm oil, the handiwork of their ancestors! In fact no other parts of Nigeria disdainfully treats the core agricultural handwork of their forebears like the Igbos and I stand to not be corrected! Honestly, the ibos must go and beg their ancestors for forgiveness, who will in turn direct them to go and beg other parts of Nigeria for all the abuse of the handiwork of their fathers!

You have to be corrected. The Igbos suffered most in the hands of Westernization than most black people to an extent that their traditional beliefs and worship were almost wiped out. Their traditional system of government was replaced with what the Whiteman thought better, their dialects were modified to form an acceptable language, every negative lie found in one part ascribed to all and later the Biafran experience. We exist trying to rediscover ourselves within ourselves very much like African Americans. That is why Chinua Achebe is a great Igbo man. His book tells the real story and how most Igbo hardliners died in the hands of whitemen, their fellow blackmen or even killed themselves while struggling to preserve their culture.

No, its fo.ols like you that'll feel the pain with you imbecilic ways of thinking. Ive gone through your old posts and to say youve gone beyond paranoia into the realm of straightup insanity is to be kind to you; youve totally lost the plot and youre too hateful and bitter against others not from your tribe for whatever reason.

You are a disgrace.

This quote by the former Saudi Oil Minister meant a lot amongst which are:

1. OPEC cannot hold the world hostage as per crude oil supply for too long. We have non-OPEC members such as Norway, Venezuela, etc.

2. Other non-oil producing/exporting countries will discover oil reserves.

3. There will be other alternatives to oil. Solar, wind and thermal power. Electric vehicles are also on the increase.

4. Technology will make unknown huge oil reserves to be discovered and explored in uncharted territories.

5. Technology will also make efficient use of oil such as vehicles with low fuel consumption.

Abagworo: Still boils down to what I've always said.

1) Oga Jonathan please develop Niger Delta with your remaining 2 years and stop wasting all the money on retaining power.

2) Grant the States economic autonomy so that dependence on oil will reduce as States will fend for themselves. The offshore goes to FG so your share remains.

3) Invest more on Agriculture and Agricultural/biotechnology courses in our higher institutions. Make Agriculture the most attractive employment for youths.

4) Allow our refineries function so that we can use the oil ourselves if they refuse to buy.

5) Encourage the Aba shoes and allied products because that could be our next highest foreign exchange earner. Rebuild the city and create a condusive industrial area with access to standard machinery.

6) The "Kano Pyramids" and Western Cocoa can be revived if my point 3 (give priority to Agriculture) is well applied. Its possible if Obasanjo could do it with cassava.
i need to give you a kiss. kiss :*
