The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is one of the world's leading research partners in finding solutions for hunger, malnutrition and poverty. IITA's award-winning research for development (R4D) addresses the developmental needs of tropical countries. IITA works with many other partners to enhance crop quality and productivity, to reduce producer and consumer risks, and to generate wealth from agriculture. IITA is a not for profit organization which was founded -1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and also supported by several countries.

The Headquarters of IITA is located in Ibadan, Nigeria. Despite the fact that its located in Ibadan, there are different people from different walk of life living and doing things together there; black and white. There are so many buildings and structures in the campus each with its assigned name. e.g Building 500, Building 401. You can also have a nice time in IITA at different places ranging from the sport center, the swimming pool, the international house where there is partying every weekend to the forest and lake where fishing is full of fun.

Now, lets move to the Agricultural Part. International Institute of Tropical Agriculture conducts numbers of scientific researches on various crops like Cassava, Yam, Maize etc. that's why they have hundreds of acres of land cultivated for research purpose. If you are a Graduate or even an undergraduate, you can contact IITA to do your Industrial Training and NYSC service their even if you are not on the Agricultural section. IITA contact details included.
