Just approach your Bank. Bids for Treasury Bills are done every 2 weeks. I will recommend GT Bank. Once successfully bidded, you'll be paid interest upfront. You'll have back your money at maturity which you may wish to reinvest or fulfill a standing order for the bank to automatically reinvest for you. It is better than fixed deposit most at times in terms of interest rate. @ kokoye (m): Anyone out there who can help to shed more information on Nigerian T-bills (and possible assist in aquiring some)please? thanks in advance. |

I dont live in the country (hence my questions) but I do have two bank accounts that are honestly just there..really do nothing with them so I have no contacts. When you say 'maturity', like how long on the average are we talking? |

Seun: Advice for yur uncle: First, put everything in tbills. 1/4 in 91 day tbills, 1/4 in 182 day tbills, and 1/2 in 364 day tbills. Once you invest in tbills, the feeling that you have to invest your money quickly - which can lead to bad investments - will pass away. Then you can start investing in things you really understand very well - real estate, stocks related to your area of expertise, business ventures selling products and services that are in great demand in your area, etc. Any investment you make should be based on your own personal knowledge and full conviction and not someone's advice. Avoid HYIP's, FOREX, or other funky investment ideas that are likely to fail. If you have no good ideas, just stick with tbills. You are a MAN bro! |

kokoye: As earlier stated, 91, 181, 270, 365, days. And longer ones are called bonds: 2, 3, 5, 7, even up to 22 years. The maturity date will be indicated on offer. You can always contact your bank in this IT age. Google for customer care phone no, email, twitter, facebook & postal address. They will inform you of what to do. Why not sign up for online banking & take control of your account from the comfort of your home. Regards |

Skynet247: He Is On The VERGE Of Getting His N35,000,000 Pension...any Advice For Him? Like you said you are an FX-trader, Pensions funds are also one of the funds invested with financial instruments like forex and futures, getting contact with an honest/experience fund manager thats an expert with huge funds will yield you real good returns because in forex world, money makes money and money never sleeps, it would be better also if you have a skilled manager that have knowledge to effectively manage a real estate market, a skillfull fundmanager will take advantage of leverage to earn you good returns from both ideas 1 Like |
