1. Did you sister mention childbirth when applying for a canadian visa?

Shw didnt because there wasnt a space to indicate that on her online application form.

What do you advise please?
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 5:31pm On Feb 05, 2017
She will be fine
She should say shes here for visit as thats why she got thr visa unlews they ask her if shew preggy nd she will say yes that she intends to take the opportunity to have a baby
She should have more thab 5k dollars with with
She should have a numbrr of tourist places
Have her siblings information....profession, place of work, home address and phone no
If possible let the sibling book appt with tthe family dr nd givr her thr family drs information
KLM is good for her. For ur info, Lufthansa goes via Germany as its a german airline
Good luck

Good Day All,

I need your advice please.

My sister applied for a visiting visa to canada last year October, with the hope to travel early to give birth. she has just been granted the Visa and she is is 33weeks pregnant, the tummy is very visible.

I will appreciate any advice we can get on the best POE into Canada. she is going to stay with another sibling in Ontario. Since the Visa she has is for visit, what can she do to avoid being turned back at the POE?

Also, what's the best airline to fly from Nigeria? we currently have to decide between Luftansa & KLM, which will both stopover at Amsterdam. Has anyone gone through a similar route without issues?

thanks.

ehn ehn so giving birth in Canada also give automatic citizenship wow dats great o I Neva heard of it o
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 5:35pm On Feb 05, 2017
Automatic citizenship us no more given to kids of Canadians botn outside of Canada.

If she happens to birth the child in Nigeria, they will do a proper sponsorship application

chibertha:
I believe your husbands status will even increase your chances of TEV after all even if you don't go there to put to birth your kids are still citizens if your husband was born there or aquired citizenship by naturalization before they were born see

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/rules/index.asp
[post=53156529]hmmm.... good day to all the gurus in the house, after 1 week I have finally finished reading page 0-42.

I'm 17 months pregnant and about applying for the Canadian TRV.

The thing now is my husband is a Canadian citizen but is based in Nigeria.

I don't have a travel history and I want to travel with my son who is 1yr and 3months old.

If I indicate my husband is a Canadian citizen will it reduce my chances of getting a TRV visa?

For those of you who were successfully issued visa, how long did you indicate you will be staying in your application?

I thank you all for answering my previous question on my visa application for birthing but I was refused on travel history and purpose of visit which I don't seems to understand as I have traveled to Malaysia,US & UK respectively and I also stated childbirth delivery in the purpose of visit section and request 10 weeks stay. What's do you think could be wrong with my application?

Seems you were upfront with required info na.... The financing, how was it like vis-à-vis purpose of travel? Also, do note that the Canadian and US Embassy share info on lots of grounds too. Dig?

$16k was my budget and the statement of account (hubby & I ) provided covers approximately twice the budgeted amount with evidence of income submitted alongside so no complaint about the fund. Travel history and purpose of travel was the basis for the refusal.

Dear All, I want to thank you all for your info and help. I deleivered my Baby safely in Brampton Thanks God and would like to share my experience with all of you;

I paid 3,500 CAD including Epidural, Anesthesia and Anesthetic Dr. - C-Section Delivery!
I delivered in Brampton Civic Hospital and the cost for 1 night was 2,000 CAD for me and 600 CAD for the Baby.

Regarding the airport, no one asked me anything although I was in my 30th week but I wore a lot of loose clothes trying to hide it grin

I stayed with my brother and his wife so I didn't use rent, but as it's already well known transportation is VERY EXPENSIVE there embarassed

The rest of stuff is mentioned clearly in the forum I believe (e.g. birth certificate, passport ...etc)

Thanks again and let me know if anyone need any help or have any question...

Dear,
Happy for you and pray you find both dr & hospital soon...
Pls share your experience with POE;
Did you state in your application that you will be birthing as your major purpose?
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Virt: 11:14am On Feb 09, 2017
There are couple of dr's numbers posted earlier on this thread for Brampton Civic hospital, like Dr. Ayodele, Dr. Abou-seido etc. You could read back to get their numbers or get the number online (just google).

I believe God will see you through, he has already done the first part - being granted a visa and getting into Canada without hitch, all in one week.

Please share your POE experience as it will help others (Like what to expect - question wise etc.)

Regards,

Hi
really sorry about your application. i have similar refusal, it seems it is not advised to indicate main purpose of travel as giving birth. and I put 16 weeks of stay with enough money, but we applied with hubby, i am going to re-apply next week without hubby sad

I have ordered CAIPS (aka notes of the VO) to understand why he refused. but it takes 30 days to get the notes. have no time to wait sad

if refused again will go to the states.

girls keep us posted. thanks.

As per the bolded, I don't think they have problem with stating main purpose as birthing; I think someone was granted visa based on the same purpose. I want to think the VOs are leveraging on our economic challenge to our disadvantage; as everyone might be seen as a potential migrant grin grin grin. What I will advise, like you said above, is that you re-apply alone without hubby; same thing to mariam99ng.

I applied alone, stated my hubby as family tie to my country in my letter and also submitted few nos of property investment deeds. I think I should order the CAIPS file check to know exactly what's wrong with the application

It doesn't matter. My family friend was already preggy when she applied but she did online application and there was nowhere they asked if she's preggy or not so she didn't indicate. She wasn't called for interview either and was given 4 yrs visa.

Now to the info everyone is itching to hearsmiley this is not MHIS Cuz Canadian system is different since our health care is free. Lemme explain.

So for her,

1. Dr fee was 750
2. Hospital was 2500 per day and she stayed just a day nd it's CS Ooo
3. Anesthesia..640

Total is 3890 CAD

The baby paid nothing because immediately he was born, he's Canadian so his health card which was given immediately at the hospital made it free. All the specialist that came to check him like eye, hearing etc was free. So this is the part that in US that adds up cuz baby have to pay.
