Last week on radio 93.7ph, bipi's lawyer was askd 'on what constitutional ground should a speaker of the house be removed ? He said 2 3rd of the house members must vote for the removal. He was asked if the 5members that moved the motion for impeachment constitute 2 3rd of the 32members required to enable the impeachment process he said yes, that in fact they were 11. That if anyone one is not in agreement should go to court, I was ashamed of this honourable barrister that could not understand simple maths. In fact, at a time he said he is not aware of the number of house members who voted for the impeachment thou he was present but it is not his duty to count how many members that voted. The charge and bell lawyer became furious and nearly laced the anchor of the programme for bombastin him with questions he could respond to.

That i would only agree, if you also coined a name to what Evans 4 other Legislators and their Thugs did to chase the other 27 members out and declare himself the speaker, i believe you may also have a name to call Evans action when he ask his thugs to kill the Governor.

duality: [b]I think Rivers House of Assembly should have at least two dozens of club wielding Chidi Llyod in that house; having opposing views.

Because that house was already dead IMO. A house that is an appendage of Amaechi led Executive. Passing obnoxious laws that is not aimed at benefiting the people of rivers.

That bloody house approved an outrageous sum of approximately 50 million USD for the purchase of a private jet for Amaechi so that he can own a jet and then gallivant the globe when he is out of office(as it was not well registered to show it totally belonged to River State) .

That same House approved that two houses be built for Amaechi in PH and ABJ among other things; where there are no housing scheme for civil servants in the state.

RSHA has to value to the people of river state. People are just being sentimental about the issues in Rivers State just to earn political capital/relevance. Unfortunately the right questions are not being asked.

This should have been an opportunity for the needed revolution in Rivers state, an opportunity for a corona inquest on governance in Rivers state, an opportunity for a critical evaluation of the so called dividend of democracy relative to the amount being spent.

From the evidences presented by both sides,i have come to the conclusion that the inspector general is only acting on the orders of the presidency.The governor of rivers state is being punished partially,the whole thing is a planned script,Amaechi is being attacked because he spoke the truth which is "the president should not run for a second term as he promised in the twenty eleven general election"evans (high)bp should be summoned as well along with his thugs.

I expected Amaechi to persuade the lawmakers to resolve their differences amicably and maturely, not polarize the whole polity and whine when the police chose not to get involved.

I expected Chidi LLoyd to equally act maturely as an elected representative of his constituency, not a street thug who was so eager to commit murder on the floor of the house.

I expected the Police FPU officer and DSS/SSS agents to perform their duties as law enforcement agents with the sole priority of protecting their principals, not work as street thugs involved in that mess. The officers involved MUST be penalised.

I expected the so-called "new" speaker to adhere to the rules of the House. For pete's sake, 5 is not 2/3 of the total house.

Kudos to the Police State Command under CP Mbu, and the Army under 2 Brigade's Command for playing neutral/impartial roles during the incident.
