Pro-Amaechi Youth Mobilise in Vain
More than five thousand youth loyal to the Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi, gathered at the Port Harcourt international airport spoiling for a fight, but left disappointed.

It will be recalled that on Tuesday, youth loyal to the minister of state for education, Nyesom Wike, known as the Grassroots Development Initiative, harassed four visiting governors from northern Nigeria who were in Port Harcourt on a solidarity visit to the governor.

Even though Governor Amaechi’s loyalists, the Ikwerre Youth Movement (IYM) were present at the airport, they were outnumbered at least two to one and could not stop the larger mob from perpetuating their violent act on the visitors.

On Thursday, with South West Governors expected, more than five thousand pro-Amaechi youth, under the aegis of the IYM, stormed the Port Harcourt International Airport to “protect” their visitors.

One of the youth told Nigerian Telegraph that they were caught unawares on Tuesday and would not want to see their brother (Amaechi) embarrassed again.

“A few of us were here on Tuesday and we saw what happened and were too powerless to act. That is why we have come in this large number to protect our visitors from anyone that may want to do them harm,” he said.

However, possibly to avoid another confrontation, the governors did not land at the international airport but at the more secure AirForce base.

The youth from Ikwerre Youth Movement were led by Emma Chinda, the state commissioner for Agriculture, as well as Welendu Amadi, the council chairman for Ikwerre Local Government Area.

Courtesy of Amaechi there would soon be war between the Ikwere and Okrika people. How long are we going to watch Amaechi destroy Rivers state?

So, Ameachi's commissioner for Agriculture and the Ikwerre LGA chairman are still youths, ehn? Whatever, the only set of people supporting Ameachi in Rivers state are these set of people - looters of the Rivers state wealth.

Tells me something about the coterie of advisers in that cabinet, and reminds me of the biblical rehoboam and his youthful advisers

The national PDP youth leader, Umar Garba Chiza is 63 years old, The national chairman, Bamangar Tukur is 85 years old while the BOT chairman of PDP i.e. Thief Tony Aneni is 86 years old thus, these guys should be regarded as toddlers according to the shameless party.

This is just so messy. Even the police could not be relied on, its now a case of using the youths to fulfill their wicked intentions. And you can be sure this would get bloody when these two faction of the youths clash!
Nigeria might truly be on the path to revolution after all...

Did anyone see wat I saw?dat old man wit hat a on his head also was among those youths who attacked the first Four Govs along side WS who came last week.why are people so lured by money these days?Does it mean the youths support who ever financially mobiised them in a given period of time?If so,let's calcuate the NPV of each youth:if CF(cash flow) is 5000,calculate a youth's NPV if the rate of interest is 50% for 2yrs.for d first year is #10,000 and d 2nd year is #20,000.Hence,dis man don hammer big time!

even the minister of youth and sport, Abdullahi is over 50 years old.....

Had it been that the group loyal to wike wanted to put a fight, it would have been bloody.

Was it not this time last year when Amaechi hosted PEG and GEJ at the rivers state government house. Infact, we saw where amaechi was dancing with PEJ and Jonathan dancing with amaechi's wife......politics and politicians are bastard. No permanent friends, but permanent interest.

I have observe of late that most governors in Nigeria always have problems with their predecessors.
Orji kalu brought theordore orji as governor, their end wasn't good
Odili brought amaechi, their end wasn't good.
Amaechi brought wike to government, the end was so pathetic
Ladoja brought akala to government, the same akala back-bite ladoja by sponsoring impeachment on ladoja.
Victor attah brought Akpabio to government, till date, their relationship isn't rossy
The Uba family brought in Ngige, their relationship deteriorated to the extent that Ngige was abducted by the Uba family
Tinubu brought Fashola, at a time, they almost quarrel over the sharing formula.....hehehehehe....I dey laugh in pidgin
Audu abubakar brought idris of kogi, their relationship deteriorated also...
Goodluck brought in Sylva, their relationship collapse to the extent that Sylva was never re-elected
James Ibori brought Uduaghan, their union became frosty to the extent that Uduaghan participated in the process of arresting Ibori, etc

Its like this scenario is a national issue

People who still abuse Amaechi and prof. Soyinka should be ashamed of themselves after d self confessional statement of patience Jonathan admission of having problem wit Amaechi dating back 4yrs ago. The shout about Amaechi is this or that are all false. They are trying to hang him for no reason. After all, prof. Soyinka is right by asking bro GEJ to caution his wild wife. Prof. Soyinka is right by describing patience Jonathan as a "Mere Domestic Appendage". The candidacy of GEJ for 2015 is being wrongly sold to d public. Those who think they are selling GEJ candidacy are quietly killing and making rubbish of him by d day.

well i dont blame you becos yorubas are known for their daft tribalism, but even if you want to be tribalistic why not be sensible a bit.for 2015, your great-great-great-great.......................... Grand fathers can not stop GEJ only God can stop him. So bettrer go and inform your tribal people ie Fashola, Tinubu and ur Expired soyinka
