Five governors will be visiting Minna, the Niger state capital today for a meeting with the two former heads of state Gen Ibrahim Babangida and Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar, Daily Trust has learnt.

Four governors, Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso (Kano) and Aliyu Wamako (Sokoto), visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abekuta on Saturday.
Today they are expected to team up with their host governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu to meet with Generals Babangida and Abdulsalami.
Niger State government spokesman Danladi Ndayebo confirmed that some governors will be visiting the state but did not give details or the purpose of the visit.
But a source that follows events on the national political scene said the visit is not unconnected with plans about 2015 general elections.
President Goodluck Jonathan himself visited former President Obasanjo in Abeokuta weekend. His visit is seen as an effort to mend fences with former leader who has for long kept away from party and government activities.
The four governors also visited Obasanjo same day. Their visit came minutes apart with that of Mr. Jonathan, but they took pains to avoid each other even though they belong to the same ruling party.
Man governors in the ruling PDP want to stop President Jonathan from running again in the election insisting he must abide by an agreement he had signed in 2011 not to stand for election this time around.
The President’s aides, however, have insisted no such agreement exists. The President himself last year said he would announce in 2014 whether or not he will run for reelection.

[b]GEJ TILL 2019 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why are all these Northern Governors jittery over 2015, why are they going to visit expired leaders like IBB.
IBB that was, beaten black and blue, dusted and disgraced by Aitku in their so called consensus candidate election of the Northern Political Leaders Forum(NPLF) headed by the now Defunct and noise making Alhaji Adamu Ciroma.
The Northern Governors interested in the Presidency should join APC or form their own Party and test their popularity in 2015 among the masses.
To be PDP presidential candidate is not a guarantee you will be elected the President of Nigeria.
I was expecting the so called 5 Northern Governors and their ASS-LICKER/SLAVE called Amaechi to decamp to the unregistered and no ideology APC, rather they are hell bent on achieving their unrealizable and WHITE ELEPHANT DREAM under PDP
GEJ is retardeeen and clueless but the 5 Northern Governors are more clueless and confused!!!
NIGERIA IS DOOMED WITH PEOPLE & ORGANISATIONS LIKE GEJ,Tinubu,AMAECHI,BUHARI,IBB,OBJ,YERIMA,ATIKU,LIAR MOHAMMED,CIROMA,PDP,ACN,APC,ACF,CPC,NGF.
Their visiting all the past military dictators will only start attracting sympathy for GEJ among the masses, just like 2011, people will beginning to say that the governors are conspiring and ganging up against GEJ, and GEJ will remain quiet and let them attack him in the media and hold fruitless meetings against him but yet the masses will feel he is being victimized, GEJ and his strategists are playing the clueless governors and their Northern elders like a game of CHESS
I hate to admit it with the clueless and confused oppositions like ACN,CPC and the forever yet to be registered merger party called APC and the selfish ambitions of their various leaders and members, "THE RETARDEEN CALLED GOODLUCK JONATHAN is certain to be relected in 2015, take it or leave it, Elections are not won on Nairaland, facebook, twitter, or by protests, elections are won by those who strategise well, GEJ might be clueless but his team of political strategist are not clueless.
Elections are not won on Nairaland or social networks or visiting the enemies of your enemy or protesting,or by Unintelligent Propaganda like ACN & APC does.
Elections are won by who has greatest team of strategists together to achieve a goal.
Ask Obama's Election team top strategists like DAVID PLOUFFE and David Axelrod they and their team of Strategist were able to neautralize the republicans media propaganda, by making Obama look like he was being victimized in 2008 and 2011 US presidential elections and this guaranteed election victory for Obama, the same is beginning to repeat it self for GEJ, the Northerners and now the oppostion are making him look victimized again and his strategists are very happy with all events unfolding, like the the meetings the between the opposition and the the power hungry PDP Governors like Amaechi,Lamido, Kwankwaso,Nyako,Aliyu, Tambuwal(Speaker) and other clueless power hungry politicians ,GEJ strategists are ensuring that all these meeting and propaganda receive huge media attention and even the clueless and confused Tinubu fell for this trick by ensuring his Newspaper (THE NATION), his TV station(TVC) and his radio station(RADIO CONTINENTAL) all carry out negative news and unintelligent propaganda against GEJ, Tinubu still doesn't understand that the unintelligent propaganda he used in whipping sentiment in Lagos and some part of South West will not work in a Presidential election or in order part of Nigeria where you find different kind of Demographics, Tinubu might be the Yoruba leader and Messiah to Some Yoruba people but no body will see him as that in other parts of the counrty,we saw what happened in the Ondo election, the people of Ondo rejected all Tinubu lies and Propaganda to unseat Mimiko.
The more the propagandas and meetings against GEJ continue, the more sympathy he begins to get from the masses(this works like mind control).
The more the unholy alliances against GEJ continue the more sympathy he begins to get from the masses(this works like mind control).
In a battle that has not been won, you don't make your enemy look like a victim, cos he will get sympathy from others whether your enemy is good or bad, you can not allow him to look victimized.
The Republicans didn't learn their lessons in 2008, they still repeated the same victimization tactics against Obama in 2010, and Obama won and this was when the US economy was bad and unemployment at one of the highest percentage in US history.
The Republicans used the now infamous KARL ROVIAN TACTICS used against John Kerry during Geroge Bush(JNR) Re-Election in 2004, they used it against Obama but the Obama Strategists built up strong FIREWALLS and Anti-Propaganda tactics to neutralize the effect of these KARL ROVIAN TACTICS.
That was the same strategy GEJ strategist used in 2011 and they are applying it again to Neutralize and detonate the Northern Propaganda and the the Tinubu Stylye Propaganda. GEJ strategists will also used the Mimiko model in Ondo State in which he was able to neutralize the onslaught, aggressiveness and Propaganda by the Tinubu ACN in the Ondo Elections that confined ACN to an embarrassing 3RD place in the election despite all Tinubu propaganda and funds, strategies and calculation, the secret was Mimiko strategists made the election to look like Mimiko vs Tinubu and not Mimiko vs Akeredolu, so People had no option but to reject the ACN Candidate and vote Mimiko because the saw Tinubu as controlling Akeredolu and that Tinubu was a stranger on Ondo Land and an Unsurper, Ondo People didn't chew any of those Thiefnus sweet styled Propaganda that Fashola is do well in Lagos, so if they Vote ACN in their state, then Akeredolu will do well too. Ondo People were too educated and enlightened to fall for what i call THIEFNUBULISM PROPAGANDA TACTICS.
The Northerners used this victimization tactics in 2011, against GEJ, he defeated them, 2015 is coming , they are still toeing the same line of failure by still using the victimization tactics against him. They will still fail again.
It is even now looking sweeter for GEJ strategists, because these Northerners in the PDP and now going into alliance with the Opposition leaders like Tinubu & BUHARI, it will now look like a gang up and conspiracy against GEJ in the eyes of the mass. That is politics for you.Even the BOKO HARAM issues won GEJ more sympathy than it affected his Government cos People see as Boko Haram as a calculated attempt of the Northern Elites to discredit GEJ Government as incapable, but that plan didn't achieve what the Northern Elite had hoped for, rather People saw BOKO HARAM a victimization of GEJ because he is from the minority tribe and a christian.
IT IS CLEAR THE NORTH AND THE OPPOSITION DON'T HAVE ANY INTELLIGENT AND PROPERLY CALCULATED STRATEGY OR STRATEGISTS TO COUNTER OR NEUTRALIZE GEJ'S POLITICAL STRATEGISTS as the 2015 elections approach.
Let he who has ear let him hear.
Dem no dey tell mad man when rain dey fall
ONCE AGAIN
TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT
HATE IT OR LOVE
INSULT ME IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY MY WRITE UP
GEJ a.k.a MR CLUEESS, a.k.a MR RETARDEEN will be relected in 2015 !!!
It is still.........
.........FRESH AIR TILL 2019 !!!

Like a man i watched on the TV today said, nigeria is not yet in the stage of democracy but militocracy!

As we can see, nigeria is still in the form of transformation from the military to the civilians proper, that is the main reason that since 1999, it seems the generals are still the one directly and indirectly controlling the affairs of the nation turning themselves to a stakeholders.

Abegi all this one na entertainment. If they like they should meet all the dead politicians in a meeting. They can't do more than dead rats. They tried it in 2011 and failed.

Politics. These are political moves for the PDP primaries not general election 2015. It is indeed getting interesting.
Re: Five Governors To Meet IBB, Abdulsalami Today by Nobody: 4:12pm On Jul 22, 2013
Honestly. This sh.it is becoming too much. Imagine! Instead of them to stay in their respective states and carryout their responsibity of delivering dividends of democracy to the electorate that elected them, they are busy lobbying and canvanssing former leaders for their selfish political ambitions. The north think Nigeria is their property! Only a foo.ol would support any these clowns for another political office, after all the setbacks they have caused this nation.

This is why we should have one term 6 years tenure for all elected officers. Instead of developing their state, they are increasing tension in the country by endless cross country meeting for election.
See what Buhari is missing by not doing what is respectful and becoming a Statesman ████
See Abdulsalami that rule years after Buhari is sought for .
