Would you do this interview assessment task for an employer or would you be suspicious they just want to use you to write their code for free?

WEB DEVELOPER - ASSESSMENT TASK 2013

This task should take approximately 3-4 hours to complete, however there is no time limit and the task is designed to provide an opportunity for you to demonstrate the quality and creativity of your development capability.

Objective:

To demonstrate both front and back-end developer skills, creativity and the ability to follow Our brief.

Task: Recruiter Database Prototype

Design and build a working prototype (not the finished product) to enable the search and retrieval of recruitment
company information from a back-end MS SQL Database by using

- C#
- LINQ to SQL
- Web pages (not MVC framework)

Front-end for users:

Design a simple interface that allows users to view information on recruitment companies. Users can search for
recruiters based on a number of search options which are: Company Name (textbox), Sector Expertise (dropdown
list), Category (dropdown list) and Location (dropdown list).
To help users search for a Company name, use the jQuery UI autocomplete functionality in "Company Name" field
(jQuery UI autocomplete is already used elsewhere in Our products). (http://jqueryui.com/autocomplete/)

Back-end database:

Information to be stored on each recruitment company:

- *Company name: eg. ABC Limited
- Website homepage URL: eg. www.abclimited.com - Company size: eg. 1-10 employees
- LinkedIn URL: eg. http://www.linkedin.com/company/ABCLimited
- LinkedIn Company ID: eg. 671120 (this will be used to pull in Linkedin profile information using the plugin:
https://developer.linkedin.com/plugins/company-profile-plugin
- *Sector Expertise: comma separated list eg: Consumer Products & Services, Support Services, Business
& Professional Services, Sports Information, Communication & Entertainment, Public Sector, Not for Profit
- *Category Type: select from "Generalist, Specialist, Exec Search, Interim Management..."
- *Office Locations (cities): eg. London, Manchester, Bristol
- Contact phone number: eg. 01234 567 8910
- Contact email: eg. info@recruiter.com
- Twitter ID: eg. @ab_integro

* Fields that the user should be able to search on

Note: Example recruitment company data set: attached in separate spreadsheet

Output:

We would expect to receive;
