Recently, I started to experience pains in my teeth. I thought I had the best available toothpaste, but when I saw the dentist, I was asked to ensure I always used fluoride toothpaste. That the importance of fluoride for dental health cannot be gainsaid.

I thought to myself, I'm sure my toothpaste would contain fluoride, but alas, when I got home, it was conspicuously absent. Since I started using a fluoride toothpaste, I've not felt such pain.

I withhold the name of the toothpaste I was using for obvious reasons, but ensure yours contains fluoride as an active ingredient.

In Nigeria we also take this for granted; seeing the dentist at least twice a year. This is the reason many end up having to remove some of their teeth.

Dental health is necessary for all round health.
