Lagos State House of Assembly on Wednesday held a public hearing on a law to establish the Lagos State emergency command and control centre, regulate the making of telephone calls to the centre and provide for other connected matters.

The bill which was sponsored by the Executive arm of government, seeks to provide emergency telephone numbers to be called by members of the public in time of emergency; ensure quick access of members of the public to emergency services and agencies; facilitate quick and efficient response to accidents, emergencies and disasters; educate the public on the use of emergency telephone lines and adopt appropriate measures to prevent the misuse of the centre’s facilities.To continue click here:http://www.mydailynewswatchng.com/2013/07/26/lagos-assembly-holds-public-hearing-on-emergency-calls/
