Prince came out of his car and walked into the church after 15 minutes of contemplating. The last time he was in church was when his step mum had passed on, his mum had compelled him to attend so his father doesn't disown him.

He sat on the seat the usher directed him to and saw the usher file back to the seat. Afterward, a man mounted the pulpit and he knew he was late.

"Shall we rise and open our Bibles to 1John 3:8."

They all stood, all present but some watching via live transmission.

"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. " He smiled at the congregation. "It is a great day! I am excited and I employ you to be too. For the works of the devil is destroyed today, Amen? "


'Amen! ' They chorused excited.

He stared surprised at the excitement of the congregation. They applaud.


"John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more."

He traced the words with his fingers mesmerized in such a way he didn't join in the prayer.

"Go and sin no more …for the Same reason the son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Which is sin, Satan's Identification Number. Many of us still go about with that identity. "

Chidubem's eyes did not leave the screen and he listened raptly.

"These days, it is worst than the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, the children rape by adults, masturbation, incest, homosexuality, gayism and lesbianism, corruption in high and low places, our musical videos are now permissive pornography, violence, ladies now go about practically naked even in the day, parents now provoking their children to wrath and so on. Defiling our bodies the temple of the living God. Nailing Christ to the cross over and over again.

Imaobong lowered her head and dab her eyes.

Temilade heaved.

"Virginity is now old fashioned, a nineteen year is proud to say he is a player and a girl barely in her things can make a married man come running to her for sex. Abortion is now a norm! Iniobong bit her quivering lower lips.

"Jesus is saying to you this lovely Sunday morning, neither do I condemn thee. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We are have a past, the adamic nature. Romans 6:6 says Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Verse 7 - For he that is dead is freed from sin. Whosoever shall call on the name if the Lord shall be saved. He is not willing that any should perish but all should come to repentance. He is knocking at the door of your heart, will you let him in …?"

Iniobong fell on her knees. 'I am sorry dear Jesus … I failed you …'

"Acknowledge yourself as a sinner."

Prince stood and raise both hands. 'I am a sinner Jesus, how are going to ever forgive me …Oh God …'

'Confess yourself your sins."

'Oh God I was a sex addict, I fornicated, I defiled marriage beds …' Tears rolled down Chidubem face.

'I am deeply sorry O Lord … 'Imaobong sobbed with both eyes closed. 'I provoked my children to wrath, I pushed them until they became prey to the enemy. Oh …how I disappointed you as a mother.'

"Forsake them …"

'I forsake my sin dear Jesus, please have mercy on my family and I. ' Omoefe opened his palms before him.

"The word of God standeth sure, whatever you sow you reap. Repentance and holiness is not a bread and butter affair, it won't be all rosy. There will be consequences for your past actions but His yoke is easy. Ask for grace and mercy. Pray for God riches at Christ expense."

'Gracious Redeemer, I ask for your grace and mercy. Give my sister and I grace, give us the strength to face the consequence of our action and come out refined. Purge us …' Indifreke laid on the floor and wept to God.


Overwhelmed by a force he couldn't contained and his nose now weeping, Prince slumped.

"Thank God for answered prayers … Thank God for your salvation. "

'I am grateful King of all, my Hope against Hope, I give all the gratitude. Even if my body is tongue alone is not enough to express my appreciation to you.' Cynthia whispered with enclosed palm.

Temilade smiled and raised both palms. 'Thank for this peace you have given. Thanks for bringing me back to you. I can no more serve sin.'

'Our dotted lines are filled in you, thank you for this precious privilege. ' Eniola had her palms enclosed.

"Restitution is very important, go back and restore what you have taken forcefully, if you can't restore it back, go and make peace. Go and sin no more, for your lines are complete in God. Your Life is now graven upon the palm of His hand and your walls are now before him.

They stood brand new, a terror to the dark kingdom.

Xtar. Been a silent reader since. But after you replied someone I just kept my onions to myself, the response was scary. Anyway. To the story.

Nice concept. Nice idea. Nice message. Good beginning. However, towards the middle of the story, I just think you didn't do it when it came to proper character differentiation. A simple header before jumping to Imaobong or Eniola would have done magic. At this point, though am at the end I can't seem to get the exact circumstances that lead to their repentance because everything is painfully clutered up.

I believe proper editing and reorganisation of the story would do it a great deal.
