^^@Barywhyte, u are trying to learn two things (python's oop and wx) together at once. I think is better u learn one thing at a time.

You can start by understanding oop first before moving to wx. It is also possible to learn wx without knowing oop, as u move on gradually d oop aspect will be getting clearer.

Hope this help.

Oh thank u Yusuf. Ur right. I seems to b putting a lot of stuff in my head at the same time. yet I have a lot of grounds to cover in Unix too especially in areas of patches and other stuff. last nyt I said I'm gonna take a break fr python this new week n cover more Unix grounds as I have to prepare soon for interview in that area. And writing wxpython codes in gedit is so boring and very long for just one or two buttons on a frame. I rather prefer a drop and drag IDE, if there is any for fedora or Ubuntu, for python gui development.

And thats stopped me fr completing d project u gav me in ur thread. I HV a terminal version of the program

guyz every time i save a .py file of user defined functions in the python25 directory and try importing it as a module into another file, I get an error message which states syntax error...

what could be the cause?

for convenience sake, place the two files ( the imported file and the destination for the import) in the same folder/ directory.
