Hullo Nairalanders,this is quite surprising though, the results for the UME,conducted on 17th May,have just been released, From the breakdown,many scored above 200, quite commendable,
All the same,kudos to JAMB, I hope students generally feel the same!

Yes I read that in today's Paper but the result is not online yet I think.

Yea the result is out. Here are the info:

[b]The Joint Admissions and Matricultion Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2008 Universities Matriculations Examinations (UME). This is the fastest that the board has released results of the examination which was conducted about eleven days ago.

The JAMB Registrar said, 447,928 candidates scored 200 marks and above, and 112,717 candidates scored between 190 and 199 marks.

He also said that of the three states with the highest number of participating candidates, Imo state was first with a total of 101,241 representing 9.6 per cent, Anambra, 72,722 represnting 6.89 per cent while Delta had 71,040 representing 6.73 per cent.

A total of 1,054,060 candidates applied for the UME and 998,114 candidates sat for the exams. This is an increase of 142,364 candidates over last years number of candidates that sat for the exams.

Also, Mr Adu Oluwatoyin from Osun state, applied to read Education Geography at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), scored 321 to emerge as the best 2008 candidate.

Oluwunmi Charles from Ogun State, scored 314 marks and Ojah Adeiza, from Kogi, scored 313. [/b]
