3ace: As bad as this country is, I can't consider relocating to Benin Republic. A country that shakes and begs when Nigeria closes border. What are my people looking for? It's obvious they are all hustlers with little earnings to show for it because if they are not, procuring their passports and IDs won't be a problem for them to finance. The Benin authorities have no blame at all. If dem no fit obtain those documents. make dem dey come back home.
ofcourse you are right, this are able men that should fully engage themself in farming in this country are almost a begger in another man's land. shame.

Lagos state governor should be aware that there are currently millions of Benin republic citizens residing illegally in Nigeria-these poor sods constitute nuisance and compete with Nigerians for available jobs and most of them have no passport.
they are mainly at ajah,Ikota, jakande,Osapa and Abulegba.most of them are undocumented hence they can successfully commit crime and run back to their country without any trace.
Imagine a poor country like Benin republic deporting Nigerians while we allow them live freely here.

kayalla: Watson with all these countries and Nigeria service? It's not our fault that we really hustlers and doing better than their lazy a.s.s, they shld get a life.
Your country is loosing it, and this is all you can spit out? Benin republic that is not even up to the whole of lagos in size. Their major source of external revenue is Nigeria{cotonou cars}. They are now awake from their slumber, trying to flush out law breaking Nigerians from their country, you say they are hating. SMDH.

They should just come home. Nigerians are hardworking but our opportunistic and selfish politicians don't care about making life easy for people. That's why GEJ feeds himself n his family with a billion and our senators keep increasing their allowance and building bigger houses. It won't be for long, the tides will rise

People must understand that if there is constant power supply and adequate security in naija over 70% of those leaving nigeria won't leave.many of those leaving nigeria are not leaving because they want to go and make big bucks but just to live a normal life.I use to tell people that when survival becomes difficult achievement becomes impossible ,and sadly enough this is the case with many people living in nigeria but in all these countries that you guys are claiming to be less developed people have realised that they can survive relatively easy over there and I don't think they will be willing to relocate back home.our political leaders need to make nigeria livable and conducive for people to live in

omanzo02: Living in another territory without permit is illegal and an offence.

My brother, it is not just about the permit. The real problem is the ATTITUDE and BEHAVIOUR of most Nigerians in foreign lands.
Most Nigerians export our ''irresponsible, dubious, fraudulent, lack of discipline, I dont care, anything goes'' attitude to other countries, and that is what makes us obvious target for this kind of treatment.
Very disgusting and shameful

Our people should try and do the proper thing. They should have gone with their passport and and get a stay card. its not difficult to do just like if their people are in Nigeria, the immigration will deport them if they find out that they don't have passports like we do. Sincerely, i know a guy ho goes there to buy goods. one day i asked him how he goes there, he told me that they don't use passport cause if you do, u will pay some fees at the border entry. some man to avoid paying such, our people have been going and coming without a passport and stay permit there.

smartchoice: nonsense why go out without your passport? they should be deported and made to face trial back at home for this embarrassment!

Nigerian don't need to carry an international passport to travel to Benin. All they need is the national ID card to travel to & fro Benin. Nigeria Government should see to the national ID card issue.

think any country will allow a foreigner to live in her country without
even having a passport.if these nigerians were able to produce their
passports as a means of identification I am sure they wouldn't have been
treated this way, except maybe they were not allowed to show it [/quote] Are u saying that all the foreigners u see in the Nigerian streets have passport? Even beggars?
