Homosexuality: Should We "Judge" Or Not? by Nobody: 9:08pm On Aug 02, 2013
since pope francis made that statement that he cant judge gay people, there has being so much comments here and there. Some people deliberately closed their eyes to the message the pope was trying to pass across and accuse him of being supportive of homosexuality. For these set of people, it is time to release their inherent anti catholic sentiments.

For another group, they saw the real message the pope passed across and judged it by its merit.

There is yet another group of people who misunderstood what the pope said and got excited thinking opinion is begining to shift in their favour. Most of these people are of course gay.

My concern, however, is what is constantly said by the last two people. That you should "judge not".

Yes, i understand the cultural modesty and sociological correctness in the "judge not" theology. But my concern is if it is being use as a shield by some people so as to stop the sting of the rebuke being hurled at what people call undesirable behaviour, a behaviour they still want to continue in.

If we are meant not to judge, why then do we have ministry of justice? When a man comits an ofence, do we separate the offence and punish it while we allow the culprit to go or should the culprit at least bear some brunt? I ask this becos of the "hate the sin not the sinner" thing. Should an act be punishable by law only if it affects the other person or should we extend punishable act to include that which is judged imoral by religion? I ask this becos some may say"how is homosexuality hurting the other person"

first of all, are you talking about the ministry of justice according to God or according to man, for God the justice for a repentant sinner is mercy and forgiveness not condemnation.

The pope was asked about supposed gay lobbys in the vatican and he differentiated between been gay and been in a lobby, he the went on to say that if a gay person (the context is supposed gay priests in the vatican), accepts the lord "who am i to judge?" To "accept the lord" in catholic theology may be likened to what protestants call born again, to accept the lord is also to accept his teaching and his grace and to walk in it. he then went on to quote the cathechism which cleerly state that homosexual sexual activities are disorder and sinful but the person should never be discriminated against. The pope does not judge any gay person who is living according to grace in obedience to Christian teaching.
You asked about the ministry of justice, in this times of grace the ministry of justice for every repentant sinner is forgiveness, for the unrepentant it is your job to tell them the message of Christ and pray for power of the holyspirit to touch their lives and turn it around.
in this time of grace that in the ministry of justice untill the time of judgement when the lord shall sit in judgement.

leviticus 20 vs 13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an
abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. <<<
