When African countries still do not have proper Fighter and Helicopter fleets. We should first built our Fighter, Helicopter and Air-Defence architecture.

After this, then we can move on to ballistic missile capabilities.

we don't need them.

SA during the apartheid years invested in them, but it is understood why.

its because we lack ambition but can fatten our generals who drive around in expensive european cars while they cant feed their own troops.africa is not serious when it comes to procure anything compared to arabs

Saudi air chief killed in Yemeni rebel Scud attack on Khamis Mushayt air base The Saudi Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Shaalan was killed in a Scud missile cross-border attack by Yemeni Houthi rebels on the big King Khalid Air Base at Khamis Mushayt in the southwestern Asir region of Saudi Arabia, DEBKAfile reports. The attack took place on June 6, but his death was concealed under a blanket of secrecy until Wednesday, June 10.
The largest Saudi air base, it is from there that the kingdom has for last two and a half months waged its air campaign to end the Yemeni insurgency. Saudi and coalition air strikes, directed against the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, their allies from the Yemeni army and from local tribes, have killed an estimated 2,000 people, some of them civilians, including women and children.

1. We don't need them. Firstly look the equipment quantity in battles fought on the continent since WW2.

2. Heaviest battles are brigade sized ones. Beyond that. Deployment of division sized infantry forces for conventional battles is mostly in rebel standards. Where equipment quantity doesn't correlates to troop numbers or should I say there's no hand and glove relationship.

A. A well equipped and trained standardised brigade can send such formations running.

3. I think the Scud story should be taken with a pinch of salt. Scud missiles are notorious for being in inaccurate.

4. The Iskander tactical ballastic missile is what would keep me awake if I heard "The Russian are coming".
