Local modification for wheeled SPG ?

Exactly....In both instances the G6 would be faster and most likely have better fuel consumption than a truck towing a 46 ton G6....hence they built it with wheels so it wouldnt need to be towed all the way to Angola and back.

G6 Range : 700km

Volvo FH(towing 46 ton G6) Range : 400km - 1000km depending on tank size

G6 speed: 90kmph road

Volvo FH(towing 46 ton G60) speed: less than 80kmph

Nigeria gets N4 billion investment in military clothing factory

Published Date Feb 28, 2019 15:00 PM
The Nigerian Defence Industries Corporation (DICON) through the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has entered into a Public-Private Partnership with Sur Corporate Wares of the Republic of Turkey.

The partnership is expected to bring an estimated N4 billion investment by Sur Corporate Wares in the establishment of a military and paramilitary clothing and accessories factory to be set up in Kaduna state.

This was hinted yesterday in Abuja when the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali was presented the Full Business Case (FBC) Compliance Certificate by the Director General of Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) Chidi Izuwa.

Dan-Ali noted that, “over the years, it is regrettable that Nigeria has relied heavily on importation of not only military hard wears and ammunitions but also clothing and accessories.”

He said the government is committed to the task of establishing a functional Military Industrial Complex that will provide indigenous support for adequate kitting and equipping of the Armed Forces.

He said, “The issuance of the Full Business Case Compliance Certificate for this project has lent credence to the potential of the project to herald the revival of a once thriving sector in Nigeria.”

He said once completed, the venture is expected to sufficiently meet the accoutrement needs of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other uniformed Paramilitary organizations.

He said, “This will further help in creating direct and indirect job opportunities for the teeming youth in the country as well as conserving our foreign exchange.”

Sur Corporate Wares has agreed to build the factory and provide equipment for production on a site made available on the premises of DICON in Kaduna.

Its done to keep the mileage and engine hours low.
SANDF also transports theirs like this.
In wartime the G6 would self deploy, but during peacetime it only shortens the lifespan of the system.

ADVANCED GAS TURBINES TO EXTEND GUIDED MISSILE RANGE AND UAV CAPABILITIES

Project Status:
Ongoing
The CSIR, in collaboration with Cape Aerospace Technologies and Stellenbosch University, is working on a 200 N (Newton) micro gas turbine engine for the hobby market, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and potential small-diameter precision-guided weapons. The CSIR is also developing a 1 000 N turbojet engine capable of vastly extending the range of large guided missile systems.

With the lack of a propulsion systems capability in South Africa having been identified as a deficiency in the aerospace industry, and with a clear market for an emerging gas propulsion sector, an ideal opportunity was presented to create a local gas turbine industry. This would enable the continued development of South Africa's considerable capability in guided weapons development.

A 200 N engine is being assembled for testing, while the larger 1 000 N engine is in the detailed design phase with specific sub-systems being manufactured for component testing. The core for both designs is based on mixed flow compressor design, simultaneously enabling high-mass flow and pressure ratios in single stages. The results of the compressors that have been tested to date are encouraging.

Apart from the turbojets currently envisaged, there are many variant designs possible, for instance, by adding turbine stages or converting the engine to bypass engines with higher thrust for helicopter applications and UAVs, respectively.

The work being done on these engines, with assistance from the Aeronautical Industry Support Initiative (AISI) of the Department of Trade and Industry, is key in the creation of a local gas turbine industry that could be of great economic value to the country.

Gas turbines are extremely high value-added sub-systems. The project has the potential to create a high-value export commodity, as well as promote skilled job creation for the South African manufacturing sector.

A member of Kenya airforce QRF taking over a situation from regular KDF inside an FOB in Somalia.
Why do special forces units have different ways of handling/positioning their rifles compared to regular troops. Aren't they all supposed to shoot as quick as they can get to the trigger, and if the SF's way is better shouldn't that be the standard for everyone else? Or do they just like to look different/cool

The SF's probably get better training than ordinary infantry units. But the rifles also play a key part, no matter how well trained you are you can't hold a g3 rifle in position all day, with a M4 that may be possible due to less weight and better ergonomics

The previous Oga has said it all.

Naijjans,it seems your army functions as police if media reports are true:
Last night, a troop of men of the Nigerian Army in over over 20 trucks went around popular clubs and lounges in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital, in a show of force ahead of the governorship election on Saturday, March 9th.

Htf,does that happen!? Is it a temporary command and control issue?
