I do not think we would be getting any Sukhois. The deal for 6 SU-24 'Frog-Foot' has been scuttled and Authur Eze owes us money.

Realistically, the Fighter Jets Nigeria would be getting are JF-17. However, even these we haven't seen.

Anyway, i really won't want to speculate especially on Fighter Jet rumours as i am already exhausted.

Arthur owes us money for the Cobra deal, the deal for Frog-foots was one of the replacement alternatives for the Cobras.

It was always unlikely that NAF was going to go for both SU-27s and JF-17 combo. It seemed like a waste of resources.

if they could provide some to our administration police manning our border rather than those soft skinned land cruisers that would definitely be a plus

too expensive for just border patrol. Your Recce unit may be be the operator of the Humvees. What vehicle are the border patrol guys presently using?

Yeah man the Hornet is a fantastic platform... And the SuperHornet is one of the best carrier born strike fighters out there, only superceded by the Rafael

Also, did you see the Su30 they were flying with?

Toyota land cruisers and we have lost several to IED's and ambushes, also they offer little protection ,several policemen have lost their lives in those ambushes .they tried to change the sitting positions but thats not the solution in an ambush where an attacker has all the advantage and is heavy armed with AK's,PKM's ,RPG-7's and also IED's

yep and i must confess the hornet was no match for it, o the hornet can only beat with AMMRAM 12 BVR missile cos AML-9 cant even meet up with it and even that is a probability cos if the crew of the su-30 are real experienced outrunning it very visible, however a dogfight is no turkey shoot and unpredictable as always with 9% survivability u cant predict

off topic a south africa made seeker 200 UAV drone crash land in yemen

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was shot down near the Saudi border in Yemen's northern Sadah province, the Al-Masirah news channel reported on 5 July.

It broadcast footage showing the wreckage of a UAV that appeared to be a Denel Dynamics Seeker 200 (previously known as the Seeker II). Like the Seeker family, the crashed UAV had a twin-boom configuration and fixed undercarriage. Its wings were also the same shape as those of the Seeker 200.

The camera focused at one point on a part made by the South African subsidiary of Carl Zeiss Optronics (which was renamed Cassidian Optronics in October 2012 and is now Airbus Defence & Space Optronics).

why are policemen still manning your borders. Is that not supposed to be the armies duty or at the very least a special joint task force. If you are giving humvees to them then it would make sense.
