NN Multi-purpose OPV/Light Frigates

“Dearsan Shipyard was selected based on its track record and the conviction that the shipyard would be able to construct a platform that could be deployed as an OPV in peacetime, while having the capability and flexibility to be quickly outfitted with sensors and weapons to re-role the platform for warfare and maritime defence purposes at a cost-effective price,” he said.

Different Navies different classification. These are not aircrafts. Check out the Israeli Navy.

And by the way you did a good one here.

Yet someone still cluelessly showed up claiming GFP is close to accurate because apparently the NA numbers of men and materials you submitted have been wiped off in combat grin grin
When reality is most of the new lads haven't even seen combat. Meanwhile the NA continues to stand up more combatant troops and inducting new non-attrition equipments none of which was accounted for in the GFP estimates of manpower & hardware. These guys have no clue how Nigeria works.
who?

Brace yourself the Nigerian military has taken delivery of most of the items on its strategic modernization programme. In this case the Navy is keeping diligently with it's short, medium and long term acquisition goals. A great delight to see irrefutable evidence.

Kikuyu1, it amazes me that the East African Community is the most economically integrated region on our continent, despite the prevalence of so many disputes between individual members. Uganda v Rwanda, Kenya v Tanzania, Burundi v everybody, Tanzania v Rwanda.
In addition, how does Tanzania square being a member of both EAC and SADC?
For example, when a SADC Free Trade Treaty eventually materialises, how will Tanzania ensure goods from SADC aren't passed on tariff-free on to the rest of EAC?

Kikuyu1, what's that we were saying about Moz paying $220K for Marauders?

The US Army paid GM $235K for this Chevrolet.
2 reports by Army testing centres slamming the vehicle, and after each one, an increase in orders, at the same unit price -no economies of scale here!
Ike was eerily prescient!

I've never liked American SUVs! The American styling isn't for me-the huge grilles and the squarish shapes of the Hummer,Escalade,Ford Blazer,Chevy Tahoe and Suburban,Lincoln Navigator et al just don't appeal to me. Secondly a lot of these SUVs are frankly unstable with narrow wheelbases and high CoG. I've had 2 pals walk away when their SUVs rolled in 98 and 03: a Tahoe in NJ and an Escalade in 04 or maybe 05 in Boston. Both guys swore they weren't speeding and were in mild corners.

CHEVROLET BLAZER ROLLOVERS
The first Chevy Blazer was created in 1969, while the newer Blazer, originally called the S-10 Blazer, was created to compete with
Ford's Bronco II.

The Chevy Blazer's top heavy design and narrow wheel base contribute to the difficulty which would be encountered if having to evasively maneuver the vehicle. The outdated roof structure standards that the Chevy Blazer is designed by make it hardly enough to withstand a serious rollover, and the chances for serious injury to the brain, spinal cord and death are high in a rollover accident.

"The two-door, two-wheel-drive Chevrolet Blazer had the highest rate of driver death from 2000 through 2003, according a study released Tuesday by the insurance industry."

That the army slammed the vehicle and US SUVs still sell like hocakes shows the power of American corruption, sorry, ummm, err lobbying!

There are some things you may not know about our southern neighbours: Tzns are still communists at heart! They don't understand the function of biz is profit. Also years of politically induced stagnation have affected their socioculture-getting them to accomplish anything however insignificant is a minor miracle. Finding an efficient coder/software engineer/hotel manager even a fkn shoeshiner is such a Herculean task many just head north and find the nearest Kenyan. I've stories for days incl a true tale of a Kenyan woman in a Dar es Salaam internet provider a decade ago when a laptop went missing. A local 'expert' recommended the slaughter of a cat: not just any cat,a kitten less than a month old, grey in colour. It was produced and duly slaughtered but my informant didn't stay to see the results;but I digress!
They know they need us but fear us which explains a very real schizophrenia on their part. Many people,Ugandans especially have called for them to be expelled from the EAC. Knowing my neighbours I honestly don't think they've consiedered the issue!
The latter though have tried to screw us over the LAPSSET oil pipeline but scored a massive own goal they're yet to appreciate. It was agreed in 2013 Ug would send their own waxy oil to Lokichar in Turkana to our upcoming Lamu pipeline.

Kenya and Uganda had in August 2015 agreed to jointly build a 1,500-km (930-mile) pipeline to pump oil from Uganda to the Indian Ocean

The line was to cut through northern Kenya and the Lokichar Basin from Hoima in western Uganda before reaching the port city of Lamu.
https://www.the-star.co.ke/business/kenya/2020-09-20-ugandas-exit-from-pipeline-project-slows-kenyas-oil-export-hopes/

A year later M7 and the late Magufuli decided to go it alone. You tell me-who would fund a 3.5 bn$ investment a mere 600 km from another major oil infrastructure investment at a time when the world is envisioning a post oil economy? Ug discovered oil 7 yrs before us in 06 but it may never leave the ground!

What an irony of statement when apparently their own internal sources love to shove it as often as possible in the face of their own elites. Actually we in Nigeria having known the crises for years and reeling it out for timely remedy even though hated for it as can be gleaned on Nairaland are only trying to help as it's a lot better having a little cousin South Africa in the mould of Britain to the US as an ally to fight the common enemies of Africa's destiny in future wars than have to shoulder all the responsibility as often is the case when little sub-saharan republics unravel into full blown conflict.

SOUTH AFRICAN GRIPENS STILL GROUNDED AS OF TODAY JANUARY 28TH 2022
https://www.defenceweb.co.za/aerospace/aerospace-aerospace/saaf-gripens-still-grounded/

In effect SA has no frontline fighter Jet in the skies, pilot redundancies as a result, left with some 12 surviving unservicable Gripens of the original 26 bought the rest since cannibalized. The Lord have mercy if Zimbabwe decides to shred all SADC pacts and mobilizes to invade.

JESUS! Ever heard of Lend lease? America helped the UK massively in WW 2.

In mid-December 1940, Roosevelt introduced a new policy initiative whereby the United States would lend, rather than sell, military supplies to Great Britain for use in the fight against Germany. Payment for the supplies would be deferred, and could come in any form Roosevelt deemed satisfactory.
https://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/lend-lease-act-1

They supplied everything from destroyers, tanks, planes, personal kit and tech like radars to their allies valued at 50 bn $. This was only possible due to their unparalleled industrial output.
That you can srsly claim such a status for Naij which has few exports even by African continental standards and imply the Saffas who outspend you almost 3.5x in defence need your help and ACTUALLY get likes shows 2 dire realities:
- drugs/booze or wanking has weakened your mind; if the latter full recovery can happen BUT only once the habit stops
-your low IQ triumphalism and comical geopolitical chest thumping has found emotional support which will inevitably ruin this thread like the other one.

kibera man,
SADC is a free trade area since 2008. So u think SA will use TZ to over flood their stuff into Kenya? What have happed since 2008? Have they used Tz to enter Kenya? What about Chinese? Are they using Tz to rule you? When you got that outdated trains from China, were Tz used in a deal?
And what will u do when Africas free Trade agreement starts? The same SA you fear the most will overpower your tiny manufacturing!
Instead of fearing and mourning about your mismanagement and rampant corruption in your kibera republic, surprisingly, you are mourning about TZ!

The problem with most Kenyas is that you take your old campfire stories about Tanzania and you run with them as if it is fact while not paying any due diligence.
Tz and Kenya currently are more similar than different and the communism you are talking about is just how we Africans have lived for the time of creation, the society takes care of the people. Oil is not going anywhere in the next 10 yrs and Uganda can easily get back the investment they made for the pipeline. Also the pipeline can be used to transport natural gas to Ug, so if it fails for oil it will be used for gas, hell Tanzania is also planning on building a pipeline to Kenya for gas. So stop being short sited cause the agreements on the EAC are different to SADC and there are somethings Tanzania will do with SADC and won't with EAC because of the charter signed. Read bro, cause the truth will set you free.

These guys have been battling out on a thread called "Kenya if far ahead the Nigeria" (correct me if I'm wrong) and they bring elementary school level pettiness to this thread also which for some is a break to the scuffles of the other thread. Everything is competitive on the basis of my country is better than yours.
In this thread i have seen simple answers to questions to which someone points a light to were someone get all the needed answers to the topic at hand but since people bring competition to a thread that wasn't intended for nationalistic pride but rather an update to Africa's intelligence, military and strategic situation is just wrong.

The issue of SADC and EAC is different from the reasons they were created. SADC was created as a way to buy pass and remove dependency on the apartheid government of SA at the time while EAC after its break was intended to create a stepping stone to one nation the East African Federation that's why there are plans for joint currency, judiciary, parliament, passport and even standardizing the entire education system to meet the requirement for one nation. The same can't be said about SADC. Its more on we cooperate on an economic and military level but not so that SADC can dictate social policies that have to be adopted by member nations.
If someone did due diligence to read about both the structure and functions of the two brunches the would understand that SA can not use URT or DRC to move products to Kenya and vice versa.
