What are you talking about, Nigeria is hosting a large scale exercise in Lagos why shouldn't the CNS attend?

Yeah I know what I'm saying is, I don't think the "Chief of Naval Staff" should be meeting with "a commander of one of the US naval fleets". They might be of the same rank but there is a difference in their work positions. Like what I'm saying is, he should give reception to the likes of the Chief of Naval Operations, US Navy and Secretary of the Navy, US Navy. While in the case of the commander of the sixth fleet of the US Navy, he could have just sent a representative - maybe the FOC Western Naval Command.

Yes during a combat training exercise

Very unfortunate both were from TACDE , IAF top gun school

Mirage pilot died , other 2 ejected

~ 300 million dollars down the drain

At this rate IAF with already depleted squadrons will run out of aircrafts and pilots

But than that's the price to be paid for putting pilots into a high flight hour combat training regime (per annum), which is higher than that of USAF

Can't have both ways and last but not the least Murphys law

It's so ironic how the IAF mocks the Pakist... Airforce and feels bigger than the PLAAF because of WDMMA rankings.

You are getting things mixed up.

The Commander first met the FOC Western Naval Command as you can see in this photo.

The Commander of the US Sixth Fleet is Equivalent in rank and position to your Chief of Naval Staff.

First you do not understand how the chain of command works in the US Military. The Secretary of the Navy manages the office affairs of the Navy. The Chief of Naval Operations works under the office of the Secretary. The Secretary is a civilian. The Chief of Naval Operations is an Officer. Both control ZERO combat forces. They serve in office and advisory positions. So the Commander of the US sixth fleet does not take commands from any higher officer in the Navy, unless the unified command overseeing his operations happens to be commanded by an Admiral.

Now this is where things get interesting. The US military is structured by service branch but commanded by geography. The Chain of command goes straight from the President (Joe Biden) through the Secretary of Defense (Lloyd Austin) to the Commanders of the eleven US unified combatant commands. so if you are looking for the four star general in command, then its is General Langley from the Marine Corps, Commander of AFRICOM. That's why I usually state here that the EX OBANGAME ongoing, is under AFRICOM. Even though the Joint chiefs are equivalent in rank to the the Commanders of the eleven US unified combatant commands, they are not in the chain of operational command.

Now it gets more interesting, as there four more functional unified commands whose sub commands can move around at times. For example, the US Special Operations Command- Africa, which organises FLINTLOCK, is under USSOCOM. However, its command has been handed to AFRICOM.

So to equate things to the Nigerian structure, the Joint chiefs and the Secretaries are in a capacity similar to the Defense ministry in Nigeria, outside the chain. Your Chief of Defence Staff who I believe is in the chain of command, is equivalent to each of the US Combatant Commanders. They are all four-star Generals. The service chiefs are equivalent in rank to all Commanders of US service branch commands, which are sub-commands of the unified commands. So your Chief of Naval staff is equivalent in rank and position to the commander of the US Naval forces Europe and Africa.

Than congratulate Exnavyboy62 for his successful infiltration of IAF minds using his mind reading skills

And than shake his hands and confide him that a guy called Nemesis4you has asked him to approach NAF top brass and inquire

1. If they ever heard of WDMMA, also be prepared to explain what WDMMA is , bec professionals across the world are generally not as informed as armchair generals running among human population especially cyberspace

2. Than ask if they agree with the fellow called Exnavyboy62 who believes that a national airforce gives a rats ass about WDMMA

If NAF agrees on both than inform Exnavyboy62 that he is ironically right on IAF

Have you been playing WarThunder?

No I don't.... I never got into it, when it came out I was already into the World of Tanks, I simply ignored it until years later when I realised that people were into it. I just don't have much interest in grinding up the WarThunder ladder, that takes plenty of sugar.

Nice, how many are in active service??
Has it entered mass production already??
Just imagine the the Badger IFV alongside ST-1 tank destroyer.........XD

Not in service, Denel never started the production line, reason: Jacob Zuma

It comes with its own tank killer, The MCT turret with a locally built Ingwe ATM that can track and kill moving targets at 5km..

Pic 1) Denel Badger Anti-tank varient
Pic 2) Malaysians firing the Denel Ingwe ATM from the MCT turret

So one needs to rest wheeled vehicles like the ST-1 from the "tank destroyer" role because in reality they're not capable of doing so against modern tanks.

MOGADISHU BATTALION WINS CADET BRIGADE INTER-BATTALION SHOOTING COMPETITION

Mogadishu Battalion has emerged winner of the 2022/2023 Cadets Brigade Inter-Battalion Shooting Competition for Army Cadets of 70 Regular Course, which held today 28 January 2023 at the NDA Open Range, Afaka, Kaduna. The battalion scored 271.6 points, beating it's closest rival, Burma Battalion, which had a cumulative score of 264.8 points. This is as Dalet Battalion came in 3rd with 264 points and Abysinnia Battalion occupied the 4th position with a total score of 232.4 points.

All four battalions competed across four major practices namely: Physical Effort Shooting, Transition Shooting, Moving Target and Combat Medic Shooting, in addition to Falling Plate shooting. Accordingly, Mogadishu Battalion scored 100 points in the Falling Plate shooting, Burma Battalion 80 points, Dalet 60 points, while Abyssinia Battalion scored 40 points, respectively. The Competition is aimed at testing the ability and proficiency of the cadets on weapon handling and shooting, which are hallmarks of land battles.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Commandant NDA, Maj Gen IM Yusuf, expressed appreciation to the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH) Commander Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, Bauchi, Maj Gen MS Ahmed, whom he described as a thorough-bred general.
He therefore, charged the participating cadets to listen and learn from the SGOH's wealth of experience when he speaks. Maj Gen IM Yusuf further disclosed that the Academy always invites professionals in various fields to attend events, so the cadets can draw from their wealth of professional experiences. He therefore encouraged the cadets to fully utilize the rare privilege.

Maj Gen IM Yusuf also revealed that proficiency in weapon handling and shooting are required skills cadets need to function well as professional soldiers if they must withstand the contemporary security challenges, especially in the battlefield. "All land battles are based on fire and movement known in military parlance as Maneuver warfare; tactical ability, which individual cadets must acquire to combat enemy decisively", General Yusuf declared.

The Special Guest of Honour, Maj Gen MS Ahmed, while declaring the event closed, thanked the Commandant NDA for the rare opportunity accorded him. He described Maj Gen IM Yusuf as a great mentor and hailed his towering achievements in the area of cadets' training. The SGOH expressed satisfaction with the level of proficiency displayed by the cadets, which he noted has confirmed the high standard of training in the Academy. While congratulating the Mogadishu Battalion for winning the competition, General Ahmed charged other participants to redouble their efforts, adding that in every contest, there must be a winner. He also described the event as unique, even as he commended the DMT, CBC and the instructors for their unquenchable desire to attain the best in terms of cadets' training.

The highpoint of the event was the novelty shoot, which the Special Guest of Honour's team prevailed over the Deputy Commandant's team.

DSS protection for one of Nigeria's leading Presidential candidates

This SPO specialist has blown the internet, trust Nigerians. The guy's like a celebrity now.

And to find its same guy one of his Secret Service detail and Bodyman who's with him at all times in suit along with about 5 others carrying a side-arm came this time in combat fatigues and Tavor because its Maiduguri, Borno State the fallen spiritual home of Boko Haram, so he clearly appreciated the threat and of course Intel fed from DSS HQ on day by day threat levels against his protection asset.

This says a lot about our DSS today, an advanced domestic intelligence agency and Secret Service staffed by agents with advanced Special Protection training in addition to Special Forces qualification and can transition quickly from civil protection to combat roles.

This video has DSS agents crawling all over the place and shows him the lead detail organising the presidential candidates overall security with even more DSS agents pouring in with the arrival of the vice-presidential candidate all packing and exchanging side-arms. Apparently the protocol is to be handed lethal weapons on the threat and detail site, I would presume with armour piercing rounds. It's a no go area.

The camera captures from the first second the exchange of side-arms between DSS agents and in the end when more dignitaries arrived.
