during his time as a poster here on Nairaland SiriusBlack posted real-time updates from the war against terror in the NE and this earned him the attention and affection of most Nairalanders who viewed his threads and contributions. some Nairalanders still occasionally ask about his well being. he stopped posting real-time pictures from the NE since his followership attracted the attention of the Nigerian defence headquarters who were forced to make a statement against the broadcast of pictures and photographs of officers on COIN duties.

its under the ministry of interior ,they work along side the regular police and are bitter rival to the point each has it own hierarchy command.it head is the Deputy Inspector of Police, this was enabled to allow better coordination in policing between administration police and regular police.they are more of gendarmes as they role involve policing mainly remote regions and borders of Kenya ,but recently their role has continued to diversify.they are also getting better kit ,weapons and equipments e.g MRAP's APC's ,helmets ,body armour e.t.c especially with the growing threat from better armed cattle rustlers and alshabaab

OK. Thank you very much for the clarification.

Tinfoil is suspected to be of Somali origin, he is the only user on the thread that prefer posting terrorist propaganda as opposed to pictures and videos from official African militaries.

Tinfoil is the only contributor on this thread that have silently threatened another user by asking for the users address.

We can only watch with a tinge of green. :-D The Egyptians get quite a kick with $1B US military aid. While the Algerians are 40m people producing 1.1bbl of oil.Thats lots of cash for both nations.Only Morocco is punching above its weight up there.

both SiriusBlack's thread and Henry240' thread were badly affected by the infamous nairaland data loss.

Here is a post by the two friends mourning the loss of their precious images.

Poor Henry, he was not going to let anything stop him. that's why I laugh when I hear him say he is leaving the thread for good cus of a small misunderstanding. we all know he has no where else to go. the last time he he tried leaving the thread for good he went to squat in Oga bidexi's thread and that of Nemesis4u and later came back home to his thread to continue posting pictures starting with that of a South African Gripen.

Yep. Production starts in April, for 2 launch customers. The factory will start off with capacity for 24 aircraft per year, with additional facilities earmarked to ramp up production to 4 aircraft per month, should the need arise cheesy.

The initial production might be for the AHRLAC.

As the Mwari still has to undergo weapons integration etc.

Design for the South African Navy’s new survey ship confirmed

Norwegian ship design and shipbuilding company Vard Marine, a subsidiary of Italy’s Fincantiere group (which holds 55.63% of the Norwegian enterprise), has confirmed that its VARD 9 105 hydrographic/oceanographic ship design is the one offered to the South African Navy (SAN) by Southern African Shipyards of Durban, to fulfil Project Hotel.

South African defence acquisition, disposals and research and development agency Armscor recently announced that Southern African Shipyards had been selected as the preferred bidder for Project Hotel, which is intended to replace the SAN’s current hydrographic survey ship, the SAS Protea, which is now 45 years old.

The ship will have a diesel-electric power plant with a capacity of about 12.24 MW, giving a maximum speed of 18 knots (kts). It will have a range of 10 000 nautical miles and will carry a crew of 120, both sailors and scientists, with an endurance of 44 days.
