Press Release: INEC Registers Atiku's Party and Another New Group

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has registered two new political parties in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as Amended) and the Electoral Act 2010 (as Amended).

The newly registered parties are the Independent Democrats (ID) and the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM).

This is bad news for GEJ. If indeed its true that the nine governors are with pdm, it puts GEJ and PDP in minority. Like the OP mentioned, PDM is the nucleus of the PDP and nothing functions properly with problems at the epicenter.

This is becoming interesting. Lets hope that the ordinary Nigerians in the villages will be the greatest beneficiaries of these permutations.

And yerima who was supposed to be GEJ's joker has been totally destroyed politically, can't figure out any remedy to this political quagmire that PDP are facing. Some people have to go on their knees the way Obj did in 2003 otherwise it would be goodbye to aso rock and possibly welcome to kirikiri.

Thank God you agreed there was a Yardua whether Musa or Shehu all of blessed memory. Anyone who claims ignorant that PDM is the back bone of PDP is just lying to him or herself. I suspect that this is a political gambit to bring GEJ, Tukur to negotiations or otherwise it will be end for PDP as a party.

Events of 2007 and 2011 will be different from 2015. In 2007 Atiku left PDP alone while OBJ managed to retain Northern loyalty and National cohesion in PDP through Yaradua.
In 2011 The G5 PDP Govs (with OBJ) led the bloc that sacrificed Atiku at the PDP Presidential primary. They delivered the ticket for GEJ, probably, based on some eralier understandings/agreements.
If the majority of the Northern PDP Govs have resolutely decided to work with Atiku then they must have decided to destroy the GEJ 2015 Presidential ambition at any cost.
