The reported death of Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the Boko Haram insurgency, is making foreign investors look favourably towards investing in Nigeria. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/08/shekaus-death-excites-bric-investors/ The original Forbes report: With even Goldman Sachs turning cold on the core emerging markets basket of Brazil, India, Russia and China, investors are combing the world looking for a place to put their money to work. For this new generation of adventurers, the goal is to be on the ground in the right new market before it becomes the core — and Nigeria just started flashing all the signals. http://www.forbes.com/sites/hilarykramer/2013/08/21/nigeria-beckons-investors-fleeing-the-bric/ |

Which kind yeye assumption be ds now? Raging kidnapping series up east is even making us loose more investments! Do u think that is different from 'insecurity'? So, because boko uses bomb, na only them dey contribute to insecurities wey dey scare investors? U better face and squash all threats! U dey pay asari, dey pardon alams, dey condone corruption, u come dey shift blames to north! What abt those who turn kidnapping of foreign investors to business? Una no well altogether! 5 Likes |

Why are the so called leaders playing with our collective sensibilities? They try to gain cheap political popularity on everything. Meanwhile, his death have not been confirmed. We all know that corruption supervised by our government is the major cause of low investment in Nigeria. Small and medium scale enterprises have all died down because of low or absent of infrastructures development largely due to corruption. Create the enabling environment for the local entrepreneurs and then the foreign investors will come. 1 Like |
