Bad Side Of Adedibu's Burial by smile4kenn(m): 9:30am On Jun 13, 2008
Thousands of mourners that gathered at the Molete, Ibadan residence of the late chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, had trooped to the place invariably with different missions.

It was also a day that petty thieves reaped a harvest of GSM handsets and cash without getting caught, while Indian hemp dealers and sellers of alcoholic drinks capitalised on the lax security to ply their trade in the full glare of the public.

It was a day many personalities could not rely on their status and sirens to gain entrance into the venue as the very rowdy main gate to the complex became a battle field for policemen and thugs

In line with Isla mic Religious rites, Adedibu was buried wrapped in a simple white windy sheet, while the casket used to ferry his remains to the burial site was removed.

In the process of bracing the odds, a correspondent of Tell magazine, Mr. Jide Jegede, lost N5,000 to pickpockets.

An Editor with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria’s Amuludun FM, Shola Ogungbade, turned her biro into weapon of protection as she stabbed her way through to the gate

correspondent with The Sun newspaper, Seye Ojo, who gripped the hand of a pickpocket right inside his pocket, part of his May salary would also have gone.

Another journalist with the Tribune titles, Mrs. Qudirat Hakeem-Apapa, was pushed into the gutter and had five men fall on top of her during her futile spirited attempt to enter the expansive complex, which proved to be choking for the burial of a man of Adedibu’s status.

Armed with a gun throughout the event, the ASP, whose GSM was strapped to his waist in a pouch could not believe his eyes when he discovered that the thieves had removed it right under his jacket

Scattered in the sprawling complex after the burial were shoes and slippers, whose owners had abandoned them for fear of being trampled upon them had they made any attempt to pick them when they fell.

At least, five people fainted due to the congestion in the burial site

Such were the fate of a State Security Officer and a woman whose wrapper fell off her body as she pushed her way through the crowd.

WONDERS SHALL NEVER END IN NAIJA!!!!

Free indeed. Are you sure Adedibu will not rig the next election from his grave? Are you sure they didn't bury him with INEC machines?

what they said:

OBJ, the man that slept with his son's wife:
he wrote “Erin wo! (The elephant has fallen). This is the end of one glorious and memorable era. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”

, more like end of inglorious killer.

Iyabo the thief:
“A great Yoruba man, a great leader of men, a great lover of the masses. May his humble soul rest in peace and may all he left behind prosper.”

, more like the destroyer of masses

OBJ & Iyabo are out of tune with Nigeria

who knows may be OBJ dey yanch Iyabo self.
grin cheesy grin
