Former president Olusegun Obasanjo was at the Aso Rock Villa today in a surprise visit barely 24 hours after the Peoples Democratic Party split into two shortly after the party'sspecial convention in Abuja. The former leader attended a church service in company of President Boni Yayi of Benin republic. Presidency sources did not disclose the reason Obasanjo visited today, especially becausehe was conspicously absent from the party's convention yesterday, but it was obvious that President Goodluck Jonathan might have sent for the former board of trustees chairman of the PDP with the aim to resolving the current crising rocking the party. On another note, Mr. Obasanjo is also interested in keeping his formerdomestic aide, Andy Uba, as the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Anambra state as acondition forending the current political feudwith Mr. Jonathan. After, the church service and a lunch date with President Jonathan, Mr. Obasanjo left the villa while President Jonathan and President Yayi went into a session to engage in bilateral talks.

I hate to admit that the political life of Jonathan hinges on O.B.J's support,but thats the simple truth.Baba is the only anti-dote to Atiku's venom.
He(GEJ)better be wise.

PDP is not really splitting into two parties. PDP is just playing smart politics.

1. PDM is designed to split the Northern vote between APC and PDM, which will weaken APC
2. PDM will strengthen PDP's vote in the South, because GEJ will not have to campaign in the North during his campaign, which will make the South love him more.
3. The plan is probably for PDM to carry the Northern Vote in some states, and then to rejoin PDP after the election.

The scary thing -> WHAT has GEJ promised to the Northern PDP Governors in order for them to follow this plan? This is a dangerous game for PDP, because PDM might never come back to PDP if they enjoy their new power. Worse, they could join APC and make it even stronger. To make sure PDM stays independent, and to make sure PDM returns to PDP after the election, GEJ must have offered them something amazing and mouth watering to keep them in line.

Whatever it is, it can only be bad for Nigerians.

The media spokesman for OBJ just told everybody publicly that OBJ could not go anywhere because of his condition, now here he stands very much healthy and full of vigor.
