Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a 5-year jail term or N200,000 or both for anyone caught cheating in the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC).

The announcement was made yesterday in Abuja by the Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufai while briefing the States House Correspondents.

Rufai said the decision of the meeting,
which was presided over by President
Goodluck Jonathan, was to "give effect
to the revised convention of WAEC,
2003 in Nigeria." And the Federal Executive Council had subsequently
directed the Ministry of Justice to take
further necessary action on the subject.

This is will be justice well served but what will happen to our thieving leaders who loot the treasury with reckless abandon? If 'expo offenders' would serve 5-year jail term then it will be normal for any leader found wanting to also serve stiffer penalty or possibly death.

Silly law, they should think of something else.

Whats wrong with this madam minister? She has better scores (ASUU) to settle with than thinking of creating useless laws. By the way, i thought there is an existing law of 21yrs or that one na fallacy.
