Wadeoye: ND emancipation indeed. I hope these so called ND people will not come and start shouting environmental problems, negligence, lack of infrastructure when GEJ leaves power. You have power now and militants are buying private jets, etc instead of addressing the real issues facing the region.

opportunity cost tinscheesy

Find Out!:
At least, we know where part of our our missing 25% or is it 33% of our daily crude oil production (lost in form of theft) goes to. Of course, we know a huge part of it is being saved to stockpile arms ahead of 2015.

To the m.oro.ns supporting these crooks and their principal in Aso-rock, my question goes thus:

We keep hearing it is "your money" since afterall, it was you people who dug the ground and put the crude oil under it. No problem.

NOW, CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW THE LIFE OF THE COMMON MAN IN THE NIGER DELTA HAS BEEN IMPROVED SINCE JONATHAN GOT TO POWER??

Criminality is being rewarded with billions, while the poor continue to be poor. Imagine the superior m.oro.n called Asari_Dokubo saying something to the effect that the common niger-Delta man is happier now just because Jonathan is president. Will happiness send the kids to school or put food on the table?

The corruption in the niger Delta is principally what is responsible for the sorry state of that place today & unfortunately it has worsened under Jonathan. before, only the Governors, NDDC people and overfed agbayas like E.K. Clark & co were the corrupt ones. They had (then hungry) thugs like Dokubo, Okah, Boyloaf & Camp 5 Commander Tompolo & co to check them in to some extent. Now, rather than do what is right for the people, the government decided to formally bring in the thuggish "noisemakers" to Abuja and stuffed their mouth with billions & that is why today, Asari Dokubo has forgotten all about "struggle for my people" and is now focused on "GEJ must win or there will be bloodshed".

Anybody, PARTICULARY FROM THE SS / SE who campaigns for GEJ in 2015 needs to have his/her head checked Period. Action is what is needed & not sentiments. If you have a more qualified candidate from the SS who shows promise & looks like he can deliver, by all means, bring him in. If it is a northern candidate who appears more qualified and really connects with and is ready to improve the lives of nigerians everywhere including the ND, vote him in. If its a SWerner, vote him. "Our son" GEJ has done nothing for the ND. Enugu airport in Enugu, & that is something to brag about after 2 years & billions of dollars in revenue later ? Rubbish.

Thank God for people like you!

Billyonaire: Only one Private Jet ? I am disappointed if he bought just one.

And I hope its brand new jet please. We need more owners of private jets in the Niger Delta.

I was thinking you're about to say you have one yourself.

Nigeria's dysfunction did not begin with Tompolo. He is merely another symptom of a chronic malaise. A country where criminals such as Babangida and Obasanjo are now seen as statesmen from whom we seek advice on how to manage the nation's affairs - such a country is already a failed state. So, there is no longer any need to write jeremiads about the injustices that thrive in this country; the country is in the throes of death. Corruption and its attendant iniquities have been enthroned as the guiding principles of state policy. Nigeria has become the very definition of a dystopia in much the same way as Somalia was for more than two decades. If you ask me, I would say that only a providential miracle, an act of God, can save this nation from total collapse. I say so because Nigerians have neither the courage nor the unity of purpose to physically compel a change in the nation's direction, that is if such a change were humanly possible at all. The various political, religious, ethnic, and economic contradictions that the British bequeathed to us - and which our politicians have worked hard to worsen and to exploit - are such that even a hundred mini-Nigerias would not survive. So, except an intervention of apocalyptic proportions takes place, the entity called Nigeria will not be much better than it is today. In fact, the indications are that it will be much worse.

Is this some kind of joke to you? Your villages and towns are in shambles, some war lords of yours have houses in VGC and Lekki lagos, private jets and billions of dollars while your people fish in oil degraded creeks and rivers.

DaRocha:

I have always said that 'the problem of the Niger-Delta is the people of the Niger-Delta themselves'. Fine GEJ got Tompolo the contract that he used to amass a lot of wealth but let us ask Tompolo, "Why didn't he use his ill-gotten money to put in place infrastructure in the Niger-Delta?". How many things worthy of mention can we point to that he has used the money for? I thought he once said that he was fighting for the emancipation of the Niger-Delta. Is this the emancipation he's been referring to all this while? I cry for the Niger-Delta because one day, that oil and gas that the Niger-Delta so depend on, will finish and they would regret their actions greatly. It is not a curse but reality.

Danjuma and co who own oil blocks, kindly list the infrastructures they have in place. shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

One thing stand out in this thread most Nigerians if not all are HYPOCRITES their comments stem from their perceive relationship to the subject in this case TOMPOLO, so if they are beneficiary of his largesses he is their hero and role model some even feed off his "achievement" vicariously on the bases of being from the niger delta region on the other hand they are those that view the subject matter with fervent disapproval, both parties exhibit a moral stand point which are relative, alter their perceive relationship with the subject and you get a different moral verdict,it is because of this age long problem that nations evolved a system of accontability rested in the judiciary or legislature to checkmate such excesses, this is not the function of the church or any religious body they can only be advisory to society and leave members to make their choice but because Nigerians have got this relationship wrong the country have become GREATLY RELIGIOUS and SCANDALOUSLY UNGODLY.The question now beg what happens when the unbiased apparatuses of accountability are severely compromised, my take is a greater law will prevail that of ORDER AND HARMONY these always enthrone their rightful place eventually in any hitherto chaotic system be it physical (entropy),cosmic(big bang),political(french revolution) ... the nugget here is universal law will always prevail over any named dysfunctional system in nigeria it is called corruption in south africa it was apartheid no wonder the GOD ALMIGHTY said HE regard HIS WORD over HIS NAME why? because HIS words are universal truth and the nation nigeria have deemed it fit to volunteer itself in the comity of nations and in deed the cosmic court to challenge these truth and prove to all that chaos(corruption) can prevail over harmony(accontability) so making the ALMIGHTY a LIAR,my advise is for all to sheath his or her sword and let cosmic retribution take its full course a house build on false foundation will naturally collapse you don't need a bulldozer,THE LORD IS SAYING TO YOU TODAY BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD the ways of nigeria is a direct AFFRONT to GOD lets wait and see the outcome

That is how to enjoy your God given wealth. if all the thieves in the north have been looting our oil wealth since 1958 and we only have this little opportunity, why cann't we do more after all they are presently ganging up to cease power and continue stealing our resources.

Huh.. Life tire me for this Nigeria, then why are guyz blaming boko haram if a millitant can succeed and buy private jet in Nigeria.. What funny to me in this story.. My GEJ awarding a huge amount of money contract to a militant that just possessed SSCE since 1993. Mr president to Militant.. Hahaha if I may ask what is the outcome of the contract or has any body benefit from what he use the money... The worst government is GEJ own, I swear.. Abacha is better by far to him

Re: Ex-militant Tompolo Buys A Private Jet by Hearme(m): 10:10am On Sep 10, 2013
Election strategies by GEJ appears to be working. The earlier the country gets out of if GEJ will go for 2015 the better. The way it appears he is fighting with OBJ and IBB is not a good indication as what happened in Egypt might just come up in Nigeria if this nonsense continues.

As for Tompolo I think he has the freedom to buy whatever he wants. The country security agencies just have to be up and doing because the more private jets the more money laundering and the more arms importation/transportation. That's just my fear. Everyone who cares will remember that such contract has been given to OPC will know that selling our security to millitia groups for election sake is not the best. Soon one of them will flaunt a jet too. The the Bakassi boys, BH, and the Nassarawa militia and other small ones will take crime as a means of obtaining something from government.

its a pity that, this is the result of cumulative injustices' in the country. Where those who steal with the pen are glorified. The country is under a siege of thieves who can not be prosecuted. Remember Iboris words on there agreement from the governors forum. Which produced in YarAdua and which led to the removal of EFCC boss and the release and pardon of Alamesigha. Who can prosecute Bankole, It means PDP is ready to show how they have destroyed the nation, so the case must lie low. Lets watch and see if Farouk will not be only fined or discharged by our court. It is even made worse that the 3 arms of government are now in the same ship of corruption.

Which way forward Nigerians? Is this how it will remain fellow youths? Where are our civil society groups? How can we make our voice heard for the transformation of this country? Where is the Impact of the SURE-P program? My first visit to the UK made me weep. Does it mean we can never be organized as a nation? Enough of polarization on grounds of ethnicity, religion, and zones. Lets have a common ground that makes us one, so we can move Nigeria forward. This generation of the old will die, but what stories shall we tell our children.

God bless Nigeria.

Re: Ex-militant Tompolo Buys A Private Jet by Joysmart(f): 10:29am On Sep 10, 2013
desgiezd: Well, just last week, one of these former militants said people should not refer to oil thieves as thieves and that they are only making use of their God-given resources their own way. Tom Polo got a contract to secure oil pipes and prevent oil theft but these crimes are increasing by the day so much so that the Federal Government's purse is now being threatened. Cruise around in your jet brother, it is your time.

By the way, of what use is a private jet when majority of one's people are dying in poverty?
tell that to your pastors.
