b)Advertising- a 30 sec spot for a prime time show is easily $200K depending on the frequency. Even though it's continuos stream the final show etc have beacoup advertising behind each eviction etc

Very crappy calculation. You can't possibly believe that everyone who voted during the Big Brother event voted once on each of those 91 days. In fact, DSTV gets more revenue from their main sponsor, than SMS. That's why without major funding from a lead sponsor they cannot carry on with their Gomorrah. It used to be Coca-Cola, now it's Airtel. Max estimates for earnings from SMS, 10% of your calculation.

All that does for now is help to augment the more than N15 billion they pay for the English Premier League annually. DSTV is not having it easy at all these days, they can hardly pay for adequate movies since HiTV came and changed the EPL pricing. I wish them well in ripping Africans off by promoting sheer demonism. People have been assaulted, abused, dehumanized and raped on Big Brother worldwide, and I know one day they'll murder someone right there on international television.
