Pls note that the ex-BBC staff was invited to cover govt activities in Delta State so he would not say otherwise even though his article was factual

Realdeals: When Nigeria hosted the U20 world cup in 1999, former FIFA vice president Jack warner who led FIFA inspection team describe the National Stadium in Lagos as the 8th wonders of world because of its facilities

He didn't call it the 8th wonder of the world because of its facilities, he said so because just three months earlier, the stadium was in such a terrible state when they visited that they all believed it is not possible for it to be ready for the tournament.
Miraculously, it was ready before the opening ceremony, hence the term " 8th wonder of the world "

What the hell do you call the National Stadium Abuja?

Do you know the meaning of functioning? Functioning means something that is usable, something that is productive, active...Abuja stadium is not because it rotted away right there in abuja under the nose of the worthless and incompetent losers we pay to take care of of.

When was the last time your national team or any team played there?

That national eye sore and disgrace fell off years ago and your homeless national team beg beg for playing soccer field all over the country.

Funny enough, just like the rot at the police college, no accountability, no arresting or firing the folks responsible for these national infrastructures, they are still on the job and ready to repeat the. same odious acts all over again...

Xriss:

The politicians in Abuja are using resources from all over Nigeria to develop Abuja the same way past 'leaders' of Nigeria used resources from the country to develop Lagos.....

Fashola is doing a good job in maintaining the facilities under his purview but whether you like it or not Lagos was developed by the federal government when Lagos was the federal capital.....

The federal government built over 80% of the roads, flyovers and bridges in Lagos....

The FG built the seaports and airports.....pls note that MMA2 is only a building...a complete airport would also have runways, radar stations, hangars, watch towers etc...

The FG also built the national arts theatre, stadium and many other facilities in Lagos.......

Though like I wrote earlier

So, this thoughtless, moronic, idiotic and upside down reason is why all the federal infrastructures all over Nigeria rotted away from the national police college in lagos to the abuja national stadium right under their nose in abuja?

It's all because they developed lagos as you dumbly inferred.

With backward and mentally corrupt Dullards like you, national rot is here to stay.

Chei see MAIN BOWL....Nigerian leaders no get head, nothing but stealing.

What's the point of wasting Tax payers money to build another stadium in Abuja specifically for our ROUGE LEADER to satisfy desire whike theres no intention of maintaining this infrastructures.

What a shame, main bowl is now a place called OJ's pepper soup joint.

WEMBLEY stadium serve so many purpose while football is not on, so many functional places within the stadium that generat funds for the upkeep of the building but NIGERIA is a case of FAILURE TO PLAN WILL ALWAYS FAIL.

Changes in our mentality is the way forward otherwise we are forever DOOMED.

You have the brain of a mosquito. Ok, Wembley is no longer functioning. There are no games being played there today, and the last game was several weeks or months ago. So it is not "functioning". It is "not operational". Damn, st.upid retar.d.

Nwa aturu, where do we start with the numerous instances of corruption in Lagos and the SW now being "brushed over with taxpayers' money" via the numerous projects ongoing there which should have been done decades ago by the corrupt, incompetent SW leadership? All the broken streets of Lagos, open drains, and filth caused by the deep corruption of the leaders whose crimes you ignore because they are of your "tribe", only to come pontificating about the federal govt's own earlier failure in a stadium? You fool no one with your stinking double standards, you tribalistic scumbag. Go to Ibadan. It is a complete eyesore of a place, it's people failed stupendously by their leaders. Where is your voice there? Animal.
