And what is Tinubu, a private citizens business with national stadium?

seems some people can't discuss Lagos without mentioning Tinubu, I never knew he was so relevant!

Rossikk: Nwa aturu, where do we start with the numerous instances of corruption in Lagos and the SW now being "brushed over with taxpayers' money" via the numerous projects ongoing there which should have been done decades ago by the corrupt, incompetent SW leadership? All the broken streets of Lagos, open drains, and filth caused by the deep corruption of the leaders whose crimes you ignore because they are of your "tribe", only to come pontificating about the federal govt's own earlier failure in a stadium? You fool no one with your stinking double standards, you tribalistic scumbag. Go to Ibadan. It is a complete eyesore of a place, it's people failed stupendously by their leaders. Where is your voice there? Animal.

Oponu, can't read and comprehend, the topic remains NATIONAL stadium Surulere, not your idiotic distractions and irrelevant rants.

1. You gyrated to renovation when the keyword remains non functioning Abuja stadium

2. Then you moved from the topic over to Wembley stadium in England that was never in any rotten state like your own stadium in Abuja

3. Now, it's another topic about the SW that has noting to do with the rotten National stadium both in Lagos and Abuja.

4. Is the SW or the Lagos state government responsible for the rotten federal infrastructures all over the country?

5. There are 2 state game facilities in Lagos state.. Teslim Balogun and Onikan stadium, both are well maintained by the state government.

In fact, the state easily hosted the National sports festival in Lagos including sports like boxing, swimming, basketball and beyond, something we both know was and still impossible to do at any federal sports complex in Nigeria.

Ode, you miss road and embarrass yourself with that dist ration.

No wonder you are dullard related...grand cousin of Oponushuwku of Aso Rock....

No. YOU do not dictate what is discussed here. It is valid to call into question YOUR constant denigration of the federal govt for its failures, NEVER highlighting its successes, while airbrushing, glossing over, and ignoring the even more momentous failures of your state and regional governments, and ALWAYS highlighting their successes. It shows you are not SINCERE in your agitation for better quality leadership in NIGERIA. You operate double standards in your criticism, and that's destroyed your credibility on this forum.

3. Now, it's another topic about the SW that has noting to do with the rotten National stadium both in Lagos and Abuja.

For the umpteenth time, you dishonest tribalist: ABUJA NATIONAL STADIUM IS IN PERFECT CONDITION.

We WILL NOTE each time you try to sneak in the lie that the Abuja stadium is 'rotten'.

5. There are 2 state game facilities in Lagos state.. Teslim Balogun and Onikan stadium, both are well maintained by the state government.

What about Lagos itself? How ''well maintained'' is Lagos? Is stadium more important than where the masses live and work? Why do you NEVER highlight the shortcomings of the Lagos State Govt where it concerns the welfare of the people? But the first FG - related failure you encounter, you jump on it.

The funny thing is that you actually seem to believe that forumers are too stup.id to see through you. I mean, even if you wanted to be that that way, a more sensible person would balance it a lot more to appear somewhat impartial. But not you. Dummy dum dum.

Let us criticise the FG for not working and leave lagos state alone. I bet you, if the FG should channel the monies generated by the country (including borrowing both locally and internationally) like the lagos state government is currently doing, i bet you nigeria will start progressing for the better. Most FG owned facilities and organisations have been left to rot. It is an insult to nigerian and FG to allow federal properties to rot and yet some people are still here defending them. Let them start work and it and let's commend them.

The useless and incompetent people everyday give us more than enough material to criticize them with because people like me have something to say all the time about federal incompetence and corruption because they display it all the time. I'm not in charge of the National stadium and they are not paying me what they budget every year to manage that stadium, they collect the money and pocket it and instead of seeking accountability and fire the people involved, they call on JB with our tax money to gloss over their stupidity and incompetence which they are going to do all over again ...

KnowAll: If d federal govt does not want this edifice they should sell it to lagos state goverment or private individual. That stadium is on prime land which can be developed into an exclusive housing estate with all d mod coms.
@KnowAll - I'm not certain you'll advocate the handling of the stadium to LASG in view of this: http://www.scribd.com/doc/165571963/Hawkers-Sans-Frontieres-Chapter-One-Chapter-Two-and-Chapter-Three

This is not to say that the State government has not been trying its utmost best. Compared to the Federal Government, Lagos State has more bragging rights as shown by it's focused sense of purpose and direction. Look at the laudable efforts which among other things, birthed the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) (It is gladdening that themuch-awaited house cleaning has been embarked upon by the management headed by a former CoP [pardon the pun] regarding the over-zealous cadre that first seemed to have ranamok); creating dedicated lanes for its ‘rapid’ bus services; setting up of the much heralded96.1 FM, the first Traffic Radio in Africa which greatest advantage, according to the critics, has been catharsis; the value it provides road users to vent the pent-up frustration associated withtraffic build-ups; embarking on the very ambitious rail project from Badagry to the Marina;severely restricting the movement of commercial motorcyclists operators popularly known andcalled okada; aggressively filling pot holes on certain roads in the day time when traffic is at itsapogee; and clearing blocked drainage swith its Drain Ducks

Lagos State, dubbed the Centre of Excellence, was created on 27 May, 1967 and touted to be the economic, financial and commercial nerve centre of Nigeria and the ECOWAS responsible for 65% of Nigerian GDP and over 70% of the national industrial investments. If the devastating traffic situation that is worsening every passing moment is not confronted head-on, all these sterling achievements could gradually be history. The adjusted official census figure for Lagos is19million souls but we know for sure that the unofficial population of Lagos is about 25millionand counting. With a very limited land area, Lagos is approaching a demographic nightmare if the current trend should continue. That probably informed the proactive measures being taken by the State Government to check the wanton ease with which anyone (including rabid terrorist groups) could enter and locate in the State to the detriment of other legitimate residents and adding more pressure on the available facilities and utilities.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/165571963/Hawkers-Sans-Frontieres-Chapter-One-Chapter-Two-and-Chapter-Three

That didn't come from agbameta, it's from the same article you posted. Looks like you posted the article to praise the Lagos state government and rubbish the federal government.

The article railed against traffic situation in lagos state because of unrestrained migration into Lagos state hence the second quote above stating that something must be done by the state.

1. The article praised the Lagos state government as a more competent force than the federal government.

2. You have 2 governments with 2 sports complex to manage. One is doing a great job maintaining it's facilities up to standard while the other let's it's facilities rot over and over and keep wasting tax payers money on repairs.

Based on the above and assuming you need one of them to manage your own facilities, are you going to give it to the lagos state government or the federal government.

We both know the right answer.

Stick to praise singing the owambe looters of your region and leave the far busier, more accomplished federal govt out of your frustration. While at it, find a way to get your ''competent, corruption free'' SW leaders to NUKE your SW cities and rebuild them, since they seem irredeemable for remodelling for their filth and neglect.

The useless and incompetent people everyday give us more than enough material to criticize them with because people like me have something to say all the time about federal incompetence and corruption because they display it all the time.

And why is 75% of Lagos officially designated a SLUM since your state govt is so competent? Why are you leaving the trouble in your backyard to look for federal govt stadium in Abuja? Dumb tribalist. Tell me something. Did your father contribute any money to build a stadium in Abuja?

Did the money come from your ''blameless'' ethnic region? Why don't you talk about something you actually contributed to, rather than what you're looking to CLAIM from other peoples' resources? You're not a Nigerian. You are a South westerner.

I careless about your meaningless internet dumb talk, this is the stadium less than a year ago and till today, it's still not functional and wont be till the next soccer game at this stadium

A stadium is not ''non functional'' just because a game is not being played in it. A stadium is non functional if no games CAN be played in it.

You need to get a refund on your bush education.

Oloshi, you didn't know it was the picture of a child before posting it to prove your dumb andretarded point even though the picture of some kid in a slum that no longer exist has nothing to do with your rotten National stadium in Abuja....?

Do you really need the picture of a kid to dodge the shame, corruption and incompetence of your adult brothers in ABUJA?

And dodging your Abuja shame to lash on to Lagos and some slum is not trying to score cheap political/ethnic points?

LAGOS (Under Mr Fashola's competent leadership)

How many of these ''no longer existing'' slum dwellers would give an arm and a leg to spend one minute in that Abuja stadium? Any ideas Eko Ile (sorry, 'Agbameta')?

We know they all ''stopped existing'' in your head the minute you began collecting egunje from your state leadership.
