ZUBY77: No, you are not alright or even close. Your father is dead. He also died twice. His coffin refused to open. You just had a plane crash. You are currently in a surgical emergency ward, with bandage and pop all over you. You currently have no idea where your dead father's remains is. Therefore you are not alright. Not at all. But i am. Some poor masses who couldnt go to school or have better health due to the lootings of you rich people are currently in their homes enjoying their lives while you occupied a hospital bed.. You see, looting the people's funds cant help anybody. What goes around comes around.

lol. u make it sound as if you are a looter and expect to be criticised. grin. anyway I agree with you. I dont think anyone has a right to judge the dead. we all have our faults. If they are alive, we can give constructive criticism which will lead them to change. If they are no more, let them rest in peace

How come it's only these politicians and their children that are fit to run public offices?
Food for thought!!!...but una no dey too think for Nairaland....una go soon turn am to tribal e-war now while these cabal turn your collective wealth to their private properties...from generation to generations ...wake up, citizens of mumu kingdom!!!

Livinus.c:
Some hoodlums on Thursday were seen exchanging blows
and throwing bottles at one another over the money they
found on the dead victims of the Associated Airline plane
crash.
When our correspondent got to the scene of the incident, he
observed that the hoodlums had turned the road leading to
the crash site to a boxing ground.
It was learnt that when the hoodlums were assisting in the
evacuation of the victims, they allegedly searched the
victims’ pockets for money and other valuable things.
It was also learnt that they fight ensued due to alleged
‘insincerity’ in the sharing of the money they stole from the
dead.
One of the hoodlums, identified simply as Loko, was heard
saying, “You won’t believe that after the whole rescue thing,
we luckily found money and they don’t want to share it
equally.”

This guy looks like Olu Falae, was thinking it's his son shocked
dont8: In the meantime, Deji's friend was lucky not to board the ill-fated airline

I narrowly missed the flight – Deji Falae’s friend

Kunle Rotimi-Akodu

KUNLE Rotimi-Akodu, a friend to Deji Falae, one of the victims of the ill-fated chartered flight that crashed in Lagos on Thursday, said he had been feeling disappointed to have missed the flight before receiving the news of the incident.

Rotimi-Akodu said he was meant to be with his friend, Deji, who was a commissioner in Ondo State, in the Associated Airlines plane for the Lagos to Akure journey but that he providentially got to his friend’s house late and missed the flight.

He was in tears at the crash site on Thursday.

He told our correspondent, “My last encounter with him was on the phone. We spoke about how we could meet and he told me that he had some official duties, especially the funeral programme of the former governor of their state. So, we planned to meet in Lagos. We still spoke on Tuesday and he said he would be in Lagos.

“We were supposed to see but unfortunately I couldn’t make it. I called him and he said I should join him today so that we would return to Akure together on the same plane that crashed. He said I should make haste to meet up, but I had an emergency issue to resolve.

“By the time I actually got to his house, the housemaid told me he had left and the wife had left home too.

“The housemaid said, ‘Oga just left, he said you should find your way to Akure.’

I felt disappointed for him to have done that, but because of the kind of person he was, I began to plan my trip to Akure to meet him and incidentally, I learnt that a plane crashed as I wanted to leave home and that Deji was also involved in the accident.

“I was dumb-founded when I heard. I looked up in my room and saw the catalogue of pictures we took together and tears began to drop from my eyes. I looked at the text messages we shared and began to picture myself being with him in the plane because that was the initial arrangement, if not that I was a bit late to join him.

“Honestly, it is still like a dream. I don’t want to believe Deji is dead. I believe he is alive and he is still going to live his normal life. We have lived together for years in Dolphin Estate. I have known him for over 15 years, when he was still studying in University of Ife. We have always been close since late 80s.”

Thanks be to the Almighty Allah who granted Feyi Agagu 'Another Life', the Almighty God always grant us the opportunity to thank Him. What a terrible devastation it could have been for the Agagu family if Feyi had died. We should also thank God that the Plane did not crash on the Tank Farm, what an inferno it could have been. May God grant the family of those that died the strength to bear the loss and the survivors should rededicate their life to Allah.

Kennysazzy: I know that pilot very well he lives 3 houses to mine Captain Yakubu is 1 of the best in Nigeria, that man is so cool and easy going, he fly's international and chattered flights only, OUR LIFES ARE IN GOD HAND. ONLY GOD IS THE GREAREST PILOT.

sometime ago, en route offshore as we got to the helipad we realized that the chopper was leaking hydraulics, the guy who spotted it was an engr I suppose, so he went to the pilot (a Nigerian) and reported he assured him all is well that we can fly,

then I have already boarded, I was thinking it was a spill from perhaps maintenance but this other guy insisted the pilot doesn't know what he is saying. he now started explaining stuffs to the pilot who at that point started raising his voice perhaps to intimidate the guy.
so he insisted that its only the technical crew that can assure him to fly,

indefiance to access restriction, he went to meet with them and explained it all, on getting there, two brits and another Nigerian with British accent did a check and they apologized and delayed the flight for 3hrs to sort it out but assured us its a minor stuff.

then the other Nigerian with the technical team told the pilot in vernacular that if he had flown that chopper he for swim tire, though he spoke in their dialect, I understood what he said.

it was then the pilot went to check the check list and he started smiling and shaking his head.

im not saying Yakubu isnt a great guy neither am I saying that the ill fated dana plane wasn't a white pilot, neither does living close to him make any difference, all im saying is that Nigerians are risk takers and because of their foundation of impunity, professionalism is negotiable.

It is very premature of me to speculate whether or not the fault is from the pilot, however, since that incident, I am apprehensive of Nigerian pilots.
