blublahd:

which hostel do freshers stay in? How neat is the hostel?
Thanks.
For the majority;
Freshers (males) = Angola
females = Mozambique.
Nothwithstanding freshers are also distributed randomly to Awo, Faj and ETF for males, and then Alumni, Akintola and just few - Moremi for females.

Whether the hostels are neat or not is usually not for u to decide - since u apparently wont be choosing for yourself.

12.
6 bunks
But it differs in other hostels. For e.g some rooms in awo will take 6, some 12 (selfhelp), and some 18 (attic). i think some rooms in awo annex can take 5 too.

Etc etc etc.

Some rooms have 5, 6 I've even seen a room with 4 students but the p is squatters, a roommate brings his friends friend to stay for the weekend and suddenly he stays the whole week, then a month, then he's now a room member undecided

so the degree of neatness and less noise varies from hostel to hostel? (males)
If so, by your assesment, how would you rank them?
Thanks

most times people bring in their friends, brothers, relatives, etc., to come and prepare for jamb. In d process, they can stay for so so long.
Also, there'd be students who have extra. They might have no place to stay in town, so they attach.

Great Ife! Here comes a medium where we can meet & chat, gist, pass/get updates on things going on within the campus. You can get Lecture notes from friends,get tutorial on difficult courses from those who are willing to help. HOCs, SU Excos and departments Excos can also use the medium to reach out to students on latest school developments. Fellowships (Christian & Muslim) can use this medium to create awareness on their programmes. Register now at www.oaucampus.com to feel the vibes.

Aspirants(UTME, D.E & Pre-degree) are not left out as they can get updates,enlightenment on admission and requirement and also get all question answered by stalites.

Some rooms have, some dont.

Angola for e.g. has wardrobe but no reading table.

Some rooms in awo have both wadrobe and reading table but majority of the rooms in awo usually convert their reading table to a bedspace or a kitchen.
Some rooms like awoattic dont have at all.

ETF rooms (i think all) have both reading tables and wardrobe.

C'mon, they are just like any typical Nigerian University hostel, infact they are better than most hostels in Nigeria, it all depends on how you and your roomates manage your roon and besides they have cleaners cleaning the toilets everyday,
I Have been to Awo, Faj, ETF, Moz, Alumni, Akintola, and they are really good hostels, the only problem is the number of illegal occupants which is even more than the legal one thereby making everything rowdy

like hausadreturn said, some people come to ife for some stuff and they squat, and others don't have a bed space but they have a friend who has space in his corner and he moves there, or his room is also crowded and he wants to stay in an uncrowded room at the expense of his comfort, etc
