Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 10:15am On Jul 10, 2008
Hello Pips
Read this article online and I just had to copy and paste here for ur views.
I think Sepp Blatter is the most stupid football admin the round leather game has ever had. He should be sent packing!!!

Former England star Paul Parker has slammed Sepp Blatter for insisting Manchester United should let Cristiano Ronaldo leave, labelling the FIFA president’s comments as ‘disgraceful’…

Blatter caused a stir by declaring that United’s refusal to sell Ronaldo to Real Madrid, and their further threat to punish the player’s disloyalty, amounted to “modern slavery”.

The Swiss went onto reveal that he hopes to combat such situations by enabling players the break off their contracts more freely – a motion which, if passed, would have an enormous impact on the transfer landscape.

The idea is likely to meet with huge opposition from clubs the world over, and Parker insisted the plan would leave clubs all but powerless to hold onto their star players.

Disgraceful

“What Blatter is saying is players can join a new club every year, whatever their contract situation,” the ex-United defender said in The Sun. “That is a disgraceful statement for the president of FIFA to make.

“Players already have so much freedom and power. Why should they be allowed to walk out on a five-year deal after just 12 months? It isn’t right.

“His ridiculous idea could ruin the game. How are clubs supposed to budget if their players could walk out at any time? I reckon they would have to put up ticket prices to allow for this and that could drive fans away.”

Daft

This is not the first proposal of Blatter’s to have met with stinging and widespread criticism; his infamous ‘6+5’ quota scheme, deemed illegal by the European Union, is still hanging in the balance.

And Parker believes Blatter should be ditched once and for all in favour of someone who has experience within the game, pointing to UEFA president Michel Platini as an example of what FIFA should look for in their new chief.

“It isn’t the first time Blatter has come out with some daft statement,” he said. “His comments show he really hasn’t got any idea about football. It’s time FIFA followed UEFA’s lead and appointed a visionary from a football background.”

Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by Hannibal: 1:47pm On Jul 10, 2008
Blatter has always been daft.

Ronaldo is now a "slave".
I would be a slave for 120,000 pounds a week. . . . . .
Ronaldo entered into a contract, signed that he would be at United till 2012 with 120k pounds and now he is a slave for honouring that??
Sepp should be sacked. . .  .He has lost it.
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by Mustay(m): 1:52pm On Jul 10, 2008
The old man needs some break.

He wants to redefne 'all rules' of football.

He needs to consult some oracles before coming out publicly to exhibit his ideas tongue
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 4:13pm On Jul 10, 2008
its actually crazy for Blatter to take sides with players who will discard any form of contract after 12 months of signing when better offer comes. This is definitely at loggerheads with his responsibilities to the game of soccer
i think FIFA should henceforth look inwards b4 presenting mad people to govern soccer

first it was the illegal quota system
now its about players jumping ship even 3 months into a contract
madness!!

Blatter and Platini are just jealous of England. . . . .
Those buncha cock-sucking plonkers are always against England.
From "6 + 5" to slashing English clubs' UEFA income to restricting foreign players playing in our leagues.
This stupid good-for-nothing pederast criticised Man Utd for paying wages to Rio Ferdinand during his 8 months ban. . . .
Now he is talking about slavery??
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 4:46pm On Jul 10, 2008
@Hannibal
yeah ure right. they are just enemies of progress
Now cos the EPL is the in thing, all they want is stupid and crazy policies to weaken the EPL teams.

no matter what they do, the time is nigh for the EPL teams to rule, conquer and dominate for a long time
i just hope and pray for another EPL team to win the UCL and they will shut der trap for life!!!
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by debosky(m): 4:50pm On Jul 10, 2008
Man Utd should shut up and stop complaining - you go to Italy and snap up youth talents for peanuts and they sell them back at exorbitant prices, now the opposite is happening to you by others wanting to pay top dollar for your stars and you're complaining?

The same flawed system that allows MU to steal Rossi and the other dude from Italy is what permits Real's madness from proceeding. The system cannot benefit you at all times, it works for you at times, and screws you at others. Suck it up and live with it.

You are not a wise man.

Ronaldo still has 4 years on his contract earning 120K a week. . . . . How does that compare to Rossi and fuckever.
Man Utd has come out to say Ronaldo is not for SALE. Madrid should shut up and go else where.
We are not a selling club like ARSENAL. tongue grin cheesy
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 5:11pm On Jul 10, 2008
@Debosky

ooops!! i had to read 5 times to understand ur point
Rossi? Rossi was never a professional player when UTD bought him so what laws/rules did United flout

Now we are talking about someone who just signed a 5 year contract and suddenly wants to run to another team cos they are offering more.

My grouse isnt with Ronaldo cos im one of the people who feels if he wants to leave, with the right price, he should GO

This Thread is about a certain FIFA President likening the Ronaldo saga to a modern slave trade. . .
what does that make the old man? The temperature of the controversy has already risen several degrees and its moral compass is spinning wildly. Normally, any FIFA President should be cautious in making such an outrageous statements on air. and i bet it, its not about United, its about all other clubs who will feel let down that der star player can leave at anytime without any prior warning

Now yall know Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini are a bunch of dorks.Sincerely why would he stoop so low to voice his opinion on this its so not his business and besides he just signed a contract last year its a bad precedence if you ask me it will only mean players contracts are not worth the papers they are signed on i am not a Utd fan but i think Real Madrid might be paying FIFA some tax or how else would one explain such bloodclotry

The man in question has spoken!!!

Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have told Portuguese station TVI that he agrees with Sepp Blatter's comments regarding the treatment of modern footballers, adding that he has not yet come to an agreement with Real Madrid,

as part of the reason for inroducing the 6 + 5 quota rule; it's a crime for a league to have 3 of its teams in the semi-final
of champions league according to Mr. sepp blatter.
What a dumb president Fifa has
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by davidif: 5:37am On Jul 11, 2008
omo, this blatter guy don tire person o, its as if him and platini never think before they talk, at least platini makes sense at times but this blatter sef i know understand o. Administrators are meant to be seen and not heard. The man truly needs to take some PR courses or probably the guy just loves the attention.
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by dayokanu(m): 8:42am On Jul 11, 2008
Manchester United, the Premier League and European Champions, have spent the whole summer crying and moaning about Real Madrid’s supposedly “unethical” pursuit of their crown jewel Cristiano Ronaldo. Meanwhile another English giant, Arsenal, have been equally outspoken against the Serie A and Primera clubs circling around the likes of Mathieu Flamini, Emmanuel Adebayor and Aliaksandr Hleb.

Regardless of who is right and wrong, it is quite clear that both of these outfits require a reality check. Man Utd are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, yet they still feel the need to poach a young 16-year-old Italian schoolboy called Davide Petrucci from Roma.

Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 9:53am On Jul 11, 2008
@Dayokanu
Dont be giving us links. . .we have read all these things weeks back

Petrucci wasnt a professional player for ROMA and he just signed his first professional contract with United.
he was an amateur just like Rossi b4 we signed him. Nothing is unethical about that.

Get the drift, Ronaldo leaving UTD isnt right nor wrong. UTD has a point by saying he still has a valid contract while Ronaldo too can prove his case by saying hes no more happy playing for UTD. The whole saga can be settled if REAL respects UTDs stance and approach the whole thing in a mild and subtle manner

what we are talking about is a FIFA president coming out openly to say Ronaldo is a slave for just signing a lucrative deal with UTD and can leave if another club can offer more. Just to let you know that UEFA has been complaining of how powerful players are and they also the need to checkmeate the spiralling wages of these players.
What Blatter has done is certainly at loggerheads with what UEFA is trying to curb

someone really needs to checkmate the excesses of that guy.
he was the same guy that once said female soccer will thrive more if the gurls start wearing more revealing jersies!!!
the guy should be sacked!!!
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by montelik(m): 12:30pm On Jul 11, 2008
the man is hopelessly corrupt.he has turn FIFA into his own little "zimbabwe".dictating as it pleases him.he has turn the organization into a one man body with himself as the all in all.he offences are so numerous i will only mention 4 that show the hypocrisy of the man
1)tried to stop bolivia from playing international matches at high altitude.despite no real medical concerns or dangers.next he will say russia shouldnt host soccer because of extreme cold, england shouldnt participate in international football because it always raining, asia can host events because of the threat of tsunami's.
2)had the gaul to criticize man united/english fa/ferdinand for a weak position on drug offences.meanwhile under his advice at the same time FIFA had refused to sign up to WADA code on doping regulations (eventually they did).
3)promised the oceania football confederation an automatic world cup slot in return for their vote and financial assistance while seeking re-election in 2002.only to later turn on his word and later describe football in the region as lacking any real growth potential and poor.then had guts to criticize australia for moving to the asian confederation by saying they had abandoned their duty to develop football in the region (what about FIFA's duty).
4)criticized former EUFA president Leonnart Johannsson for staying in his position as long as he did and not allowing others a chance.yet this same man is rumored to be seeking a change to rules to allow him to remain as head of FIFA till 2018.
i am in no way suprised by his latest utterances
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by Pataki: 1:32pm On Jul 11, 2008
I know it is ManU fans that will start tearing their voices out. grin cheesy grin

Blatter has said, football contains too much of modern slavery, he is free to air out his opinion on this matter. SIMPLE!!!!
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 2:30pm On Jul 11, 2008
@Pataki
yeah right!!
i'll be a slave to anybody that can pay me 120k weekly

thats true. . .thats slavery.
of course, Man UTD/ SAF are the slaves to CR7 since he can ask for anything and change his mind on a contract 24hrs after signing!!

slavery indeed. . .Blatter is a bloody Arrow
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 4:12pm On Jul 11, 2008
Just read this

It was only in February that the Swiss spoke out against any attempt to railroad clubs into selling players against their will.

Yet it seems a relatively low-profile case involving Andy Webster being allowed to leave Hearts for Wigan did not trigger the same stance Blatter is now adopting over Ronaldo's proposed move to Real Madrid.

Webster was able to swap Hearts for the JJB Stadium by buying out the remaining year of his contract after a verdict was reached by the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS), upholding his right to do it.

At the time, Blatter commented: "The decision which CAS took on January 30th is very damaging to football and a victory for those players and their agents who are toying with the idea of rescinding their contracts before they have been fulfilled.

"This unfortunate decision undermines the principle of contract stability as agreed with the European Commission in 2001 as part of the new transfer regulations which restored order to the transfer system. This has been deemed less important than the short-term interest of the player involved."

Those comments are clearly at odds with Blatter's stated belief that clubs should not hold players against their will, which offered Ronaldo the platform to speak his mind yet again.

Can this man be consistent for once? hes surely daft!!!
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by bgees(m): 7:26pm On Jul 11, 2008
Blatter's comments were really bad. I agree it was really daft.

BUT
i'm sure Slur Alex Ferguson would have made similar comments if d transfer was d other way round (madrid to man utd)

and i'll like to see man utd without ronaldo for a season.
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by agbola(m): 7:39pm On Jul 11, 2008
see i feel Blatter shud neva hav put his mouth in such but also see it from the footballers side I am only play for 10 to 15 years after which there is no retirement benefits abeg u need to let them grab as much money as possible because ask Sir Alex how many of his mates that were playing football at his age are still making money now

Whereas Ronaldo is Portuguese most Spanish and Portuguese players fream of playing in Spain for either Madrid or Barca so what Blatter is sayin is that it isn' t fair to stop people from fulfilling their dreams
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by akinalabi(m): 1:44pm On Jul 12, 2008
Sepp Blatter? Who still listens to him?

I'll prefer to listen to my 6 year old niece.

I remember him saying the future of football is women football. . .
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by somze(f): 7:14pm On Jul 12, 2008
Blatter deserves more respect than this. The topic of this thread made me shiver with unbelief. The guy is older, wiser and wealthier than all of you put together.

He has been the Fifa President for about a decade, won two elections, hosted 2 successful World Cups, and has been on the Fifa Board for about 30 years. Calling him daft for airing his views is downright insultive and absolutely disgraceful.

Get a life!

Ronaldo can go or remain . . . much ado about a bloody hype.

On this forum, I've seen people call Fergie, Wenger, Grant etc
worse names. . .

Using your exact words, these guys are older, wiser and wealthier
than all of you put together.

So what's the biggie now that it's about Blatter?
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by somze(f): 10:27pm On Jul 12, 2008
It's not right to call them names. Just because you've seen it done does not mean it's right.

Common, how can you start a topic with this subject?
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by akinalabi(m): 10:36pm On Jul 12, 2008
You missed my point.

I'm not suggesting its right to call them names. I'm only
surprised to see you jump to Blatter's defense when
you've never jumped to anyone elses defence.

Calling Blatter daft is not worse that calling Fergie a gay
which I've seen countless times.
Re: Sepp Blatter Is Daft! by tkb417(m): 5:49pm On Jul 14, 2008
@Somze
c'mon, u can be better than Blatter. must u be daft too?

what is disgraceful in calling a spade a spade? so if Blatter hosted the world cup means he should stop reasoning?
who is the bigger dunce between Somze and Blatter?

someone who accused players for trying to run away from contracts and now suddenly changes tune to a player should run away from contracts whenever they are tired of it? why is he contradicting himself? he forgot his brains in the refrigerator or what?

and who says you cant call someone richer than u names?
now this is where u are daft!!!

about getting a life, probably i should tell u that i have got a better life than ur lineage put together so u probably might need to step up ur life.
Always write ur tots down in the diary b4 u post next time, oya now run and sin no more

PS: its not about Ronaldo, its about a certain FIFA President who speaks with his anus. Or u werent alive when he said female soccer will be the bomb if they wear see thorugh vests?

@Akin Alabi
why explain these things? little things are hard for these people to understand. Those that function with a IQ of a log on this blog are too many. you cant deal with all of them
