I just obtained my passport from the immigration office. While going through my data page now, i found an error on my place of birth. OGOMOSO was mistakenly typed instead of OGBOMOSO. "B" was omitted. But every other information is okay. is there any implication or can i go ahead and keep using the passport like that? please...my people...i really need your advice..thanks and God bless

It is better to ignore it since it is a palce of birth. The correction can only be done in Abuja and it will cost you more than the amount you used in obtaining the former.

God bless you my brother..but does it mean i have to start writing OGOMOSO instead of OGBOMOSO in any field that required my place of birth in any travelling process or doesnt matter..?

Use the passport's spelling, in Nigeria they will know that it is typographical error, outside of Nigeria no body get a clue on what the real spelling it.

Thanks a bunch..i just spoke with a friend who is a diplomat in one of Nigeria embassies abroad. He also told me dsame thing. once again..Thanks and God bless u abundantly cos it initially gave me serious concern.

Why don't you contact the immigration and sort this out? If the problem is from them I don't see why you should pay heaps.

I called the immigration officer who assited ​M̶̲̅ε̲̣̣̣̥ immed8ly ℓ̊ saw it. He told ​M̶̲̅ε̲̣̣̣̥ dat ℓ̊ av τ̲̅ȍ make another payment Ãήϑ we start d processing again τ̲̅ȍ effect d correction. ℓ̊ can't afford τ̲̅ȍ start all over again cos ℓ̊ really need d P τ̲̅ȍ book visa apptmt in few days tym. Thanks

Nigeria na wa. They made a mistake and instead of fetching it free of charge they are demanding more payments

pls I have a problem with my date of birth on my passport there's an error...how can I change it or correct it?
